this really cracked me up---bones are in bad shape but STABLE????
well that made me happy------
and the boobs are fine----nothing to be concerned about with what they spot every time I go--
heck they cant be that bad if falling down the stairs didnt cause any broken hips/so forth!!!
so thats it--see PT tomorrow---and then Ortho. Friday to see what the MRI shows---concerning any other issues---
so all in all I am in fine shape
till later--

I'm glad you got a good report.
I saw my gynecologist yesterday and asked him when I could stop getting annual pap smears and mammograms. He said that Medicare only pays for them every two years. So he thought that once women reach age 65, it's probably not necessary to have the tests done every year.
Has anyone else been given any different timetables for the tests?

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
Gloria,
Hmmm I didn't know Medicare only paid every 2 years - shows what I know about it all.
I have done my best to avoid Mammos whenever possible ever since Doctors started doing them. I'm not saying that is a good policy - just that I did it. I have been pretty successful at averaging every other year. I have no idea what the experts recommend after 65 but if Medicare only pays for one every two years, I'm sure that will be the new standard.
I'm no doctor (please remember - but I'm sure you'll have no trouble remembering) but from what I have been told and read, I think if you are very low risk for cervical cancer you could pretty much eliminate the pap.
My Dr. in Pa went along with that theory but my Dr. in Florida believes in continuing. It all depends on who you talk to.
All I can say is research and do what feels comfortable to you.
Barbara........ Sure glad they didn't find any new problems. Stable bones are a good thing, I'm sure. Like you said... fall down stairs - no broken hip - bones must be pretty good.
Sure hope that spine settles down and decides to give you a break soon (good kind of break )
Love, Shirley
