A Cute Story

Hi All:

My Sister, who has never been married and is 57, has been seeing a really nice fellow for over a year now.
Last Saturday he took her out for dinner and when they got back to her place, she discovered her little kitty (who used to be Mom's kitty) had a messy rear. She is a long hair cat and sometimes gets "sticky". Anyway, my Sister was horrified because she and Paul had been talking about marriage for awhile and she was upset that he wouldn't want a sticky bum kitty in his home. Well, she got busy cleaning Meggie up and fuming and worrying while she was doing it. When she came back out to the livingroom, Paul had been busy with her Scrabble tiles and had spelled out on the table, "I love you, Donna - will you marry me?"
He's a pretty unique thinker and I don't think anyone has evey proposed that way before.
Anyway, he was pleased that Donna was distracted cleaning up the kitty so he had time to work on his proposal. He also doesn't mind the kitty and will welcome her into their home.
So now they're going to be married in September and she will be moving to his home and it's closer to me (yeah!!!).

Anyway, wanted to share this with you because it is a happy event.

Hi Momster,

Thanks for the interesting story. All kinds of records were probably set with that situation. I'll bet that's also the first time in history that a cat with a "messy" rear end, ever "aided and abetted" a marriage proposal. LOL.

It just goes to prove once again--it always pays to be kind to animals.

The "sticky bum" story speaks well for him too, don't you think?
If he can't tolerate a pet, he probably wouldn't do well in marriage 'cause as we all know - a good marriage has a LOT of "tolerance" in it.

I think it says allot for the guy too. Sometimes actions speaks louder then words, or in this case did the words speak louder because the actions that were happening at the time made that possible or...........

the end result was that she found out that he was a good guy, and worth the answer she gave him.

Wendy - yes, it is my artist sister - she's the only sister I have and there are just the two of us left in our immediate family now, so nice that we will be living closer to each other

Jill - She met Paul through business with her art work. With the type of work she does, which is mainly at home, she says it's nothing short of a miracle that they met the way they did - a friend of hers told Paul about her work and he is knowledgeable about art, is a Christian like her and manages a chain of Christian book stores where Donna's friend suggested she might be able to market her work so that's why Paul contacted her and things just went from there - yes, there is hope for you. You'd be a fine catch for any lucky man, trust me.

Yes, everyone, Paul is very tolerant and understanding so the messy kitty didn't phase him and I agree, Wayne, it was probably a first that a messy kitty abetted a proposal.

Meggie (My Sister's cats are sisters and their names are Meg and Peg) is healthy. She and Peg are Persian/Rag Doll cross cats and have very long, fine, tangly fur and sometimes that just happens. Seems to be with Meg more than Peg. Meg's tail is huge - looks like a squirrel's tail. They're beautiful cats - Peg looks like a lion. They are long hair tabbys.

Any sign of Cocoa?
