They say Medicare will not pay for the tests. BC/BS said my diagnosis code doesn't exclude it but didn't know if it will cover them! AAARRRGGG.
Does one need a doctor's prescription for the test to have it considered for insurance?
Is there a published study from Dr. Fine? It sure would help in discussing the Enterolab tests with my doctor.
Do you recommend getting the tests? Have they helped you?

It's definitely worth a try..
The tests sure do help if you want to know if you have a sensitivity to gluten, dairy (lactose/casein), etc., depending on which panel you pick.
Some send for the tests when they can't get their symptoms to improve, by meds, diet......

I just emailed my doctor's office the EnteroLab web site as well as the Archives of Internal Medicine page that has Dr. Fine's name.
I chickened out of emailing the Poo Song to the girls there........
I haven't even been to the office, yet. Doc only see patients on Thursays. I guess she does the procedures all other days and is off on Fridays. The earliest appointment was end of July when we'll be out of town. Now I'm scheduled for the end of August! Dr. does reply to phone calls at least.

The "word origin experts" seem to feel that the western boundary of the South, ends in East Texas, but I believe it goes much farther west than that. Your example of the old western movies is evidence of that, (because obliged is definitely a Southern word, especially when used to convey gratitude).
Growing up here in Central Texas, for example, we used virtually every word that is supposedly attributed to "The South". I never heard anyone say "thank you", until I entered the public school system. Gratitude was always expressed as "I'm much obliged", at home, and in the community. Of course, it didn't take long for the school system to play havoc with my vocabulary. LOL.
Well gee, I'm sorry to hear that your family suppresses your vocal freedom. I've always found that Southern dialect adds a lot of color, warmth, and a certain degree of "human interest", to otherwise mundane communications. The only other U. S. dialect that can hold a candle to it is the language of Noo Yawk. I'm not sure which is the most interesting, but I love them both. Unfortunately I'm only fluent in one, and I'm slowly losing it, through disuse. <sigh>

Me Too!! I love to hear a good southern accent and the expressions are priceless.
On one of our earlier dates my (future) husband asked me "how much further". I siad "just a piece down the road". He laughed at me so hard I started losing my accent immediately!! I still love it though!!
