I'm A Scared and Confused Newbie

Post by jodibelle352 »

Hello Everyone:

My name is Jodi and since April of 2007 I have gone from 140lbs. down to 95lbs. I don't even recognize the person in the mirror anymore. Infact I look like a poster child from some far away country who's starving. seems to be what I do most of the time or :sleep2: My husband is my biggest support as he sees and has to deal with my mad rushes :toilet3:, abdominal pain, severe mood swings and the list goes on and on and on.

I have found that my friends list is getting shorter each and everyday, they just DON'T understand and I feel at times like they think I'm just making things up. I have actually thought about having an "Intervention" with these people, lay it out on the table and say what has to be said "one time and one time only"! Gossip takes place behind my back and it really hurts and makes my depression even worse. Many have added a PHD behind their names and have diagnoised me being "anorexic" OMG! I wish that were the case. My closest friend; Karen finally told me the other day;"OMG Jodi, I just got over having the intestinal flu and spent a day and a half on the toilet! It finally dawned on me what you have been dealing with for months!" Just goes to show you who your "true friends" really are.

I've had test after test, stool sample after stool sample, lab work upon lab work and FINALLY after having my gallbladder removed in Jan. with NO change in my Big D and still constantly loosing weight a colonoscopy was done and SURPRISE! I have CC (Constant Chits) :flush:

My doctor started me on 9mgs Entocort daily, increased my Zoloft, started me on Xanax as needed and .125mg of Hyoscyamine every 8 hrs as needed, changed me from Prevacid to AcipHex 20mg and I also take Ultram. I feel like a walking pharmacy! I also take OTC anti-Big D medication as needed.

Since early this morning when I found this support site I've been reading and re-reading so much informative information. There are so many things that I need to talk about that I'm hoping to find some friends that will help me through this transition of "acceptance" that I need to deal with and I sooooooo badly want to move on and have some type of life again.

Thank You for Listening:
Jodi

May God and All His Angels, watchover, protect and guide you with all the good help your given to others!

Thank You so much for replying. Maybe we can get through this together "one day at a time".

At first I tried a different support site but it seems like nobody ever reply's and sometimes I feel it's very important especially for myself anyways that I have outside contact as I'm at home the majority of the time because I'm afraid to go to far from home. Have had way too many accidents with Big D at the most inappropriate times.

When I have an accident it just "wipes" me out mentally, emotionally and physically. I never know when it's going to happen so it's just easier to stay home.

Love and God Bless:
Jodi

May God and All His Angels watchover, protect and guide through this crazy illness "One day at a time".

Yes, I probably found the same one first. I'm very, very glad to have found this one.

I certainly understand everything in your last post. The PP can help you get through all of this.

We were supposed to fly to OH at the end of July for DH's BIG reunion and then on to Cleveland to see my Mom who just turned 92. I told DH I will NOT go on an airplane. (We had free tickets from FF miles) We are driving. YUCK.

I'm probably going to do Dr. Fine's tests. I emailed the web site info to my GI's office. I hope she reads it before she calls me.

I imagine you found the site here but just in case, www.enterolab.com

 The other day I had a dr's apt. and on the way back without warning I had to GO and knew I couldn't wait. We stopped at a "Speedy Q" gas station which was the closest but the WRONG place to stop. They don't have a public restroom! Arghhhhhhh! I tried to explain that I have a medical condition and would they please...................make an exception. The clerk said;"NO, we make NO exceptions"! Needless to say I messed myself before we even got out of town.

Thank God I have the husband I do who was soooo suportive and caring but I was so angry with the clerk that I wanted to say mean and hurtful things to her.

So when you go on your trip, DON'T stop at any Speedy Q gas stations because they really are inconciderate!

Thank You for the info on enterolab.com will be checking it out. I've got my journal beside me and am writing everything down that I can so that I can ask my GI about it when I go for my next apt. July 28th.

Joan:

When did you find out that you had MC, CC or LC?

I have only been on medication for about 2 months now. Tried going down to 6mgs of Entocort and guess my body didn't want to go there! LOL

I want so badly to gain some weight back but the foods I'm able to eat right now without problems just doesn't have a lot of calories. It gets so disheartening.

How did you get your penguins, besides having CC I'm also computer illiterate at times and have NO idea how to do some of these things. Can a person have "angels" instead as I collect angels. LOL

That's exacty what I need to do to get ready to talk to my GI by phone tomorrow. I faxed her office the Enterolab site on Friday. A PP said that Dr. Fine was mentioned in an article in the Archives of Internal Medicine
Feb. 2003 Prevalence Study. It will be interesting to see if my GI knows the researchers because I see on the web that she was in Maryland previously.

Doc is going to be a bit surprised when I tell her that she probably has diagnosed my brother in Cleveland. At least Tex thinks so and I do to. It will be interesting to see. It will probably take ages for him to get an appointment...............

VA told him that he has IBS but he never thought so. None of the meds they gave him ever helped. Tex and I feel pretty certain he has MC. I don't think he ever had a bowel biopsy.

In Feb I had a colonoscpy (that was previously on my 12th of never list) I had lower left pain and D. It was mild diverticulosis just like my girlfriend had dianosed! D didn't improve and I had a Sigmoidoscopy with colon biopsy and I was diagnosed with LC on June 10th.

I had missed your gas station story previously. SORRY, that is just horrible. I will never sto there for gas if I ever see one.

Some site talked about a card to carry with medical information so they'd let one use the facilities. I've been to too many sites, I can't remember which one. Sorry.

I don't know about the penguins, they just appeared this morning with no explanation. I did see someone with paw prints...maybe you can get angels.........

Thank You Joan:

I'll just wait and see if I get some angels. LOL

I will put asking my FP or GI for some sort of card I could carry incase of an emergency.

The clerk was so smug and looked at me like I was trying to pull some kind of trick on her. Since that incident I haven't went back to that gas station for anything and they are one of the cheapest in gas prices around here. I won't buy my gas or snacks there again.

I just wish that Joanne had been working that day because I know she would have bent the rules for me and she would have been more understaning.

Thanks for the suggestion on asking for a card to carry, I'm sure one of my dr's can lead me to one.

I've never seen a Speedy Q gas station, but when I do I will pass it by! Welcome to the Potty People, by the way, Jodi and Joan.
