DH to have his first colonoscopy. He's going to my GI mid July. Interesting how fast they can get him in for procedure, but how slow they are getting me a regular office appointment. AAARRRGGGG.
Good, he can eat all the lemon ice things in the freezer...oops he gets headaches from that kind of thing.
I'm looking forward to seeing a really nice guy named David at the hospital. I don't even know what his job is. He asked me how I was doing. I said, "Just ducky". He said," If I sing to you, you'll be just peachy." He also asked if I wanted him to tell DH about the delay beause 3 different nurses couldn't get the IV into me. Finally, the male nurse anes. got it up on my arm. The previous procedure they put it on the top of my hand. There was swelling and pain for a week.
After complimenting my doc here at PP, she hasn't called me back. I'm hoping she's reading the EnteroLab info.
Alert the news........

Hello Joan:
I hope they get all their ducks in a row for you the next time. It just doesn't make sense when certain tech's have NO PROBLEM finding a vein and others use you for a pin cushion.
A year ago this month my David had to have surgery for a ruptured hernia. When he was released from the hospital they set up Visiting Nurses to come out and check on him. Now..........don't get me wrong there are many very good associations of visiting nurses and not all nurses need to seel other employeement. We had one that decided she was going to change David's medication schedule around and in 24 hours of her doing this his bp went sky high and his hr bottomed out. When she took his vitals the following day we were back on the road taking him into emergency for another hospital stay. I was NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!
When I got home that day I contacted The Visiting Nurses Association and told them to NEVER send that particular nurse to my home again. I also told them not to even bother with an apology or having her contact me because I wasn't listening.
Many of us take for granted that all medical personal know what their doing, well I'm finding out that there are differences between making an error in judgement and just being completely incompitant. Sorry for the spelling errors.
Love and God Bless:

This one did and I "fired" her and told the Association that she would NOT be allowed into my home again.
David is on many medications and it's not unusual for a nurse in the hospital or a visiting nurse to help set up is medication box when med's are deleted or changed. With this particular incident David's assigned head visiting nurse set his medications up for him when he first came home but then she was scheduled for vacation so another Lead was assigned. When she showed up she redid everything that Janet scheduled David for and until she went on vacation David was doing well . Why she would try and over rule Janets original work I do not know but believe me when it comes to the safety and wellfare of a patient this Norma should have left well enough alone. As many people have heard "Why try and fix something that isn't even broken?" This Norma didn't impress me from the Get Go and at this time I was already showing symptoms of CC, Ulcers and Gallbladder problems so when she damn near burried my hubby it was time for her to GO and I wasn't giving her a second chance to screw any of his med's up again. Once we redid his med schedule back to Janet's original schedule David didn't have anymore ER visits.
