FMs, What about a potty card from this web site?

Post by JLH »

 Could we have a card made up and go out with the tee shirts? Where does the money for the shirts come from anyhow if the donations are for flowers?

The PP logo would get their attention pretty fast but I think we should use our medical name of MC.

Hi Joan,

When we first discussed the possibility of designing some T shirts with the PP logo, most members were in favor of deemphasizing the logo, (making it smaller), and leaving off the name, (The Potty People), and any other wording. Personally, I like the idea of printing something such as "Microscopic Colitis" under the image, and we may reconsider doing that, if/when we have another batch made.

Yes, we send flowers whenever a member, (or a close relative, in some instances), has major surgery, or a death in the family. Donations for the shirts help to cover a part of the cost of the flowers, but usually fall way short. A few members here are kind enough to occasionally contribute to the flower fund, and I cover the rest. I donated the money for the shirts.

What kind of card did you have in mind - something universal? It wouldn't be much of a reach to send out birthday cards, for example, but for that to work, everyone would need to enter their birthday in their profile information, and of course their mailing address. From a privacy viewpoint, most new members are reluctant to enter information such as that, (though many of us do exchange birthday and Christmas cards, outside the board).

We could even have a line of cards printed for various occasions, and sell them here, (either at cost, or with the profits going toward the flower fund, or some other worthy cause), if enough members are interested to justify the time involved in designing the cards, and the cost of getting them printed.

We're always open to ideas.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

No, I'm talking about a potty access card to show at Speedy-Q and the like. (Maybe one would have helped Jodi's situation.) It might also be shown to people waiting in line to use the restroom to go ahead of them in line.......

For a card like that to get results, it will need a quasi-medical appearance. I'll research it a bit. When Polly gets back here, she will probably have some insight that would be beneficial.

Not necessary now that Crohn's Foundation will supply them to us. See new post.
