I'm in Calif. with our daughter's family (the one with 6 kids) having a ball! DH & I are trying to take each one out for breakfast or lunch or ice cream so we have special time with each one. we try & run "interference" for their folks and nurture understanding ....really fun and so rewarding .....we are headed to a game this weekend for Battle of the Bay....the SF Giants vs A's....getting the all "you can eat" seats cuz these big guys eat a lot of groceries....there is one girl and she puts away her share pretty good!! they are all excited cuz I haven't felt well enuff to try something like this for a long time....my daughter cried today as she thanked me for my efforts on their behalf with the kids and helping them find their strong areas and put weak areas in perpsective. I cied too. I just wished my mom would have done something like that for me and not tear me down and ridicule my/our efforts at parenting. So....we are having a geat time this weekend. will check in & read posts once in a while but probably won't comment ....

Hi Sunny, sounds like a fun weekend In store.......Just Enjoy and have fun. My Mother was very negative but I decided I would be anything but like that.

I got teary reading your post remembering how bad it was for you a few months ago.
What a great job you have done parenting AND grandparenting.
Can you adopt me and my two daughters?
We're headed for Seaside tomorrow.
