things happen in 3's--right

Post by barbaranoela »

well yesterday--before leaving for the graduation--a car pulls up in our driveway--out steps this handsome looking guy---and L. and I look and all of a sudden ---I jump up and down---its Bob---my son Dougs--best friend from wee tots until Doug moved to AZ--

Well we hugged and hugged and smiled and I couldnt believe he was here--

And today---my doorbell rings--L. answers and calls me to see who is here---
I look---and I felt like a kid in a bowl of jelly beans----it was Patty--my daughter Lynn's best friend growing up---
Patty and her hub were in the area and she had to come and see what the old neighborhood looked like---
So they stayed bout 3 hours and --as usual we did all the *remembering*--and Patty said---*U know Mrs. G. there will never be a place like we had here---all the fun---all the bar-b-q's---and this was a complex of 17 homes where we all got ALONG---the kids grew---we went around Xmas Eve singing carols---our neighbor Steve would freeze over his driveway so that we could ICE SKATE---Joan the hot chocolate--we watched regular sized movies cus Lou had a 16 mill. projector and we had access to the best movies going---
I was almost in tears----
And the usual Q.---Patty to me---*where did all the time go to*

So I called Deb--Doug and Lynn and they were xcited---and then Deb says to me* mom--things happens in 3's--wonder who will be ringing your doorbell tomorrow?*
I said---well if the bell rings and Jesus is standing there then I know *I am in big trouble*

We were hysterical------
I have to say again---how Xcited I was/and still am----to see the kids --well adults--well older adults--

The past 2 days have been such an uplift for me----remembering good times does *wonders* for the soul----

That's a lovely story. I'm getting very nostalgic and tearful in my old age.

Some time ago my sister, brother and I started an online dialog of childhood memories. It was so much fun.

What a great pick-me-up! And you write about it so eloquently. They must think a lot of you to have stopped by.
