FYI Earthbox

We're using it on the patio until we get a deer fence. DH tore out the "maters" because of those big ugly worms. We've got flowers now.

Amazon carries it but I think I got it on HSN or QVC when it was a special value. Now I've found them locally.

We have five of them. Last year our green peppers were in them, but they didn't do too well. This year we put cherry tomatoes and lettuce in them. Then we put the lettuce earthboxes on the patio chairs. Rabbits don't touch them. Now, I'm hoping I'll be able to eat the lettuce before summer's over.

Joan!!
Yes, I have seen these before, but have never tried them.
Hmmmmmm!
I love to plant things as experiments and next year I may have to try a couple of these.
This year I am doing the upside down tomato plants that you grow in an upside down bucket with a handle. Then you just hang them off a post, etc., and the stems of the tomato plant automatically reach for the sun and don't hang down like when planted in the ground. It is supposed to produce a bigger crop. So far I have 2 of them hanging on my patio and they have 6 tomatoes each.
next year I may try pepper plants in a couple doing it that way.

Dee, that sounds very interesting. I hope you get a very good crop.

DH put collars around his plants but he still got those worms. I don't know about their life cycle or really care but it's too bad they did in our "maters".

We had some Rosemary that grew too big for its pot and DH transplanted it into the ground. Luckily, I realized that it was close enough to the house that it could get the poison Terminex sprayed! SCARY. It is strictly ornamental now.
