Hi Mars,
It's been a long time, with no report. I hope that doesn't mean that the news is all bad.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi everyone - I've missed everyone so much! Thanks for thinking of me!
It's been a rough few weeks and I just haven't felt like doing anything. I had surgery to remove the kidney stone on July 8th. The uretheter (sap) was narrowed and I was unable to pass the stone on my own but had to deal with the pain for 3 weeks until the Doctor decided to remove it surgically. There was also previous scaring from other stones. The surgery was of the out-patient kind and I was home by 1. I went into work (dying, I might add) the next day to complete a report that was due on the 10th (no excuse was allowed - more on work later). I worked 4 hours and completed the report, although it was wrong. I ended up staying home the rest of the week. They inserted a stent during the operation and was to remove it on the following Monday. I was in such pain and discomfort that I called them on Thursday afternoon and told them. The gave me the choice of being admitted to the hospital or have the stent removed in the office the following morning. I chose the office.
Believe it or not - the stent was 8 inches long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder I was in such pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been uncomfortable for the last week - working even though I only wanted to be in bed. Spasms have kept me on pain pills and anti-spasmatics for the last week. I am scheduled to go into the doctor tomorrow for a followup but will have to reschedule because I was informed on Friday that I am going to have to address the Board of Directors on Monday during the time of my scheduled appointment. Grrrrrrrrrrr Still having problems with pain and cramping in both kidneys. Wonder if it is possible to have had stones in both???
As for work - I am struggling with work right now because the work load has increased and I am using a new accounting software. I received about 3 1/2 days training where usually they schedule about 2 weeks. I can enter invoices, pay bills, receive income, do payroll but am unable to pull the reports out of the system (which is necessary for the agency director and board). I also have had to rebuild the system from January 1st. Being off of work for 2 weeks (vacation one week, surgery and recouping the next) left all the work piled up and waiting for me when I returned.
I am so uncomfortable with my job now for the first time in 12 years!!!!!!!!! They hired someone to help the director (work I did previously) to enable me to not have that responsibility along with the accounting. I guess it says something that they had to hire someone full time to do a portion of the job I was doing! Teehee
Anyways, the board has told the director to hire someone to assist me in my department and he says there isn't any money (true) but I am failing in my job right now. If the accounting department isn't running smoothly, the agency can't function. I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo frustrated. I spent most of last week crying at the drop of a hat because of the way I was felling and the frustration of the job. Now I have to present to the board why I am not able to produce the information they need and where the money is going. Hard to do if you can't produce the proof in reports!!!!!
Ok, enough already - sorry to unload but I guess I needed to unload somewhere.
I had to have my sister come help with housework yesterday - unable to do too much, still!
Ok, thanks for listening! I'll be back soon, I promise!
Love to you all!
Mars

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Wow! No wonder you've been absent. Things have really gotten out of hand. (When it rains, it pours).
As much pain as you've been in, (and are still in), one would think that your board of directors would take that into consideration. Someone dropped the ball, when they limited the training for new accounting software to three and a half days, if the software is significantly different from what you've been using.
I serve on a board where we recently had to switch accounting software, and it took a lot of time and hard work, to get everything up to date, and working smoothly. Most people, (board members included), don't have the foggiest idea how much work is involved, unless they actually have accounting experience, (which most of them don't). The first order of business is to get that software working correctly. Without it, as you are well aware, accurate reports are mostly wishful thinking.
Recovery certainly hasn't been going very well. I hope the pain subsides soon. If not, I hope your doctor has plans for what to do next. I would think that it's certainly possible to have stones in both kidneys, but it seems like quite a coincidence that they would act up at the same time. Maybe it's typical for them to do that, though, for all I know.
I hope you feel much better soon, and I hope you can get that software straightened out, and everything going smoothly at work, too. It's mighty difficult to concentrate on problems at work, when you're in constant pain.
Love,
Tex

Oh, Mars. What a terrible time you've had. I hope that work improves, but I agree with Tex - they didn't give you enough time to learn the software nor any support for your illness. It sounds like they have the attitude "Just do it!" with no understanding for how it is to be done.
I hope you can get to the bottom of your pain. An 8 inch stent sounds horrible.
Will keep you in my prayers.

Morning Mars,
Well you sure have had a heck of a time with the stones but work sure has added to the frustration. Can sympathize on the accounting end since I am not one and have had to take on an accounting load since middle of last year. I also switched to new program in January and so much like the old one better. Hope things pull together and at least you got some training, I had zip and it is very frustrating for me.
Take care and feel better. Work is a trial but they will wait on you.
Love, Maggie
