Seen My GI Today.......
Had an appointment today with my GI. Weight gain: none (but still at 97 lbs) Told me if I had any weight loss to make sure did not wait for my 3 month appointment to see her.
I think that's pretty sound advise. LOL
We discussed the BRAT diet and I told her rice, applesauce and toast I can handle but banana's give me really bad gas pain. She then told me to leave out the banana's.
Like I didn't already figure that one out weeks ago? DAH!
While she was going over some of the results that she received from my overnight stay at the hospital she said that apparently a nodule of some sort was found on my thyroid gland that I need to have a follow up with my PP for some thyroid test. Not sure what this test is as I've never and a thyroid workup before so anyone who can help me with any information on this would appreciate your input.
Dr. Larkin was still concerned about my stress and anxiety levels and ask me to do the best I could to rid myself of as much stress as possible even though she knew this could be very hard but try my best.
I guess I could disown my youngest daughter, her present husband and 1st and 2nd husbands to releave my stress. Sounds like a GREAT IDEA too me.
Yes......................My friends I'm feeling a little fiesty today and spunky too boot!
Love Ya All:
Jodi

Love you right back. That's what we are all here for, love and support.
Hi Jodi,
It's good to see that you're having a good day today.
Nodules on the thyroid are usually benign, but they sometimes cause hyperthyroid symptoms, because many of the nodules are actually capable of producing thyroid hormone, (independent of the function of the thyroid gland itself), and since this production is not monitored by the pituitary gland, the result is excessive thyroid hormone levels in the body, and the symptoms that go with hyperthyroidism.
The initial testing may just be based on a blood sample, (to see what your TSH, T3, and T4 levels actually are), but more extensive tests will probably be required if you actually have excessive free T4 production. Barbara went through all that, roughly about a year ago, I believe.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Tex & Joan:
Thank You for the information. Since being in the hospital I did not know until today when I saw Dr. Larkin about the nodule on the thyroid gland. Before being released from the hospital and appointment with my PP was made for Aug. 5th at 10a.m. I think I will call his office tomorrow to see if they can schedule these test so that I have the results back for my appointment with Dr. McDougall. If these blood test can at least be done now then why wait until Aug. 5th before they are ordered?
David wanted me to tell everyone he has so much respect for all of you and how much this site has helped me cope with so many things the past few weeks. I know I've had some really bad lows of late and am trying my darndest not to slip into the severe depression that sometimes comes especially since last Oct.
Everyone helps me so much and I really do appreciate all the help.
Will let you know what is said tomorrow about having at least the lab work done before my next visit takes place. I think Doc will go along with sending me or having me pick up a slip to have the blood work done without any problems. He's very understanding and has seen both David and myself through a lot.
Thank You Again,
Love and God Bless:

Thank You Angy!
Like Tex said; most all Thyroid nodules are benign so I'm not worried about that part.
So today I called my PP and he's sending me the orders in the mail so I can get what needed labs done before I see him on Aug. 5th.
I'm very lucky to have a PP who truly cares and was in agreement of getting these labs done so we don't end up with extra office visits that we just can't afford right now.
Will keep everyone posted on what I find out.
