Oma a question for you

Post by ronipow »

I was reading in your profile that you took Bentyl for cramping. Is that like
Librax. Emily took Librax for two days and it gave her horrible nighmares.
Do you have any trouble on the Bentyl? How long did you have stomach cramps for and for how long were you on Bentyl. Emily still has a lot of
troulbe with her upper stomach.

Re Bentyl

Post by annie oakley »

Hi Roni, I was prescibed the Bentyl for what the doctor called spasms in the intestines. I had a really good GI in Az when we were there. I started out taking 3 a day and now only take Bentyl as needed. I had no side effects from the Bentyl at all. It took all the pain away when my gut would spasm. But thru eating differently and other factors I have been with out the Bentyl for 2 weeks now. It worked better than pain pills and allowed me to keep a clear head. I loved them. Still have some, but use only when I have a flare. Love Oma
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance

Bentyl

Post by TendrTummy »

Hey gals.. I also use Bentyl, aka Dicyclomine. I've had side effects. I find that it can blur my vision if I haven't taken it for awhile, otherwise it just makes me very sleepy. First time I took it, I lost feeling in my legs, but that subsided the more I took of it. it's a good med, but be careful of it.. I didn't realize my issues were my gall bladder because I was taking Bentyl and couldn't feel much of anything in my stomach area. I feel like if I hadn't taken the Bentyl, I'd have felt where the pain was coming from and might have realized it sooner.. I guess the point is that meds can cover up pain, but the pain is there for a reason, just don't forget that..

BTW Herb Lady, visit your private messages.. your avatar link is awaiting :)

We are going to a new GI next week. Emily is doing about 50% better,
but still has stomach upset. Maybe that stuff would help her till the diet kicks in better. I think I'll ask Dr. Lubin about that one. For how long were you on that drug?
