Commonly-Used Abbreviations on this Website

Post by Polly »

One of our founding members, Marsha, took the lead on compiling this list of abbreviations/vocabulary words you may find on this website:

MC = microscopic colitis

LC = lymphocytic colitis

CC = collagenous colitis

D = diarrhea

PP = Potty People = what we call ourselves!

FM = founding member of this website

Norman = coined by member Barbaranoela as a mistyping of "normal" . Norman has now become the standard for a normal, pre-MC bowel movement, as in "Norman visited my house today". He is notoriously fickle!

The different kinds of MC poops. If you have MC, most of the following really need no further description: battery acid, loosy goosy, bullets, pencils, floaters, sinkers, soft-serve, and puff poopie (the one that looks fine until you flush and then it disappears into a cloud of dust)

Mona Lisa = picture perfect frame-able poop

PCP = primary care physician

GI = gastrointestinal physician

Jerk doctor = term of "endearment" some members apply to their physicians

MI = mutliply-intolerant

GF, DF, SF, CF, YF, EF = (in order) gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, corn-free, yeast-free, egg-free

CD = celiac disease

celiac lite = coined by member CA Mary to describe the "milder" or "earlier" type of gluten sensitivity that often goes along with MC

AI = autoimmune

SO = significant other

MIL, FIL, SIL = mother-in law, father-in-law, sister-in-law

OMG = Oh My God

ROTFLMAO = Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off

IOW = in other words

IMHO = in my humble opinion

LOL = laughing out loud; lots of love

BTW = by the way

FWIW = for what it's worth

WAG = wild-assed guess

WAEG = wild-assed educated guess

WTF = :censored:

YMMV = your mileage may vary

TTYL = talk to ya later

BBIAB= be back in a bit

TTFN = ta-ta for now

BBFN = bye-bye for now

*And, last but not least, one of our favorite sayings: "Happiness is a dry fart!"
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
