Well LouieHood and his Merry Men had a grand time in the city------
They covered alotta ground---saw some of the buildings they took care of---walked Broadway---and then hit one of the deli's for a bite--
But Louie said--the city is really cleaned up-----and HOE town is gone------and then he saw Equitable Life Insur. Co. where I worked---
The area has and still is becoming quite the place to be----its like the papers say----our lower east side is becoming a real snazzy area---
The streets that we knew as MOTT---DELANCEY--are becoming very up scaled---
The guys figured that we gals could never keep up with the walking they did --but who knows~~~~ so another *tour* is planned and I am hoping that *us ladies* are invited--and if we tire out they can always drop us off at one of the department stores--
I would really luve to see Greenwich Village---cus that was very artsy a long time back and I betcha it has to be top notch now--
I almost wish I was back in my *old neighborhood*
So folks---this closes --with a along with me *remembering* the fun times we had --remembering all my friends---and puts a on my weary face now---
Sometimes U can never go *home* again but U surely can *keep* home in your heart!!!
Happy dreams---
luve Barbara

Hmmmmmmmm. A long walk down memory lane. It sounds as though the trip was pretty much of a "scouting mission".
I saw part of a PBS documentary on the "lower east side" back in the 1920s and '30s, last night - the part I saw seemed to be mostly about the development of the garment industry, and similar developments, but I was half asleep at the time. LOL.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
