Hello Everyone:
Sorry it took me so long to post today's office visit with the ENT. Have been having computer problems all afternoon with Charter Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My visit went very well and Dr. Scharf was very straight forward. His exact words were;"Something is diffinately preventing you from gaining your weight back but it is NOT your thyroid." The cystic nodules are non-cancerous. They justify NO reason to put me through another major surgical procedure of removing the thyroid when the nodules are non-cancerous. He said;" I am 100% positive that your thyroid is not and has nothing to do with your weight issues. I don't know what your problem is but it is NOT your thyroid".
Soooooooooooooo, right now I'm feeling relieved and at the same time feel as I'm no closer to a reason my low weight.
When my brother phoned tonight and talked to me he said;" Jodi, maybe you need to finally release all the things you've been keeping inside for this past year. You have acquired a habit this past year of keeping everything inside especially since your confrontation with Kara and Dennis. Someone or something is still bothering you and I think it's time you get it out. I promise, no matter what it is I won't let anyone hurt you in anyway if anyone should try to retaliate against you."
This past year has been really rough, maybe Mark is right. Except for blowing off steam here this past week I'm not addressing issues with my family because I'm afraid of distancing them further from David and myself. Mark has given me lots to think about and maybe he is right.
I know that the Entocort at 9mgs per day is truly working and after going over my journal each time I've had bouts of D is if I'm upset and stressed out or if I happen to eat something that isn't acceptable to my gut.
Have lots of things to think about, especially after talking with my brother tonight.

My husband asked me today after passing several signs posted in peoples yards "Vote for Ron Paul". All primaries are now over and the Dem's and Rep's have already made their choices for President. LOL Since Ron Paul is from Texas could you tell us who Ron Paul is? I know it may sound funny or off the wall but truly we would like to know who this person is.

I'm sure you were relieved to find that you don't have cancer. I know that it's frustrating to not have any answers for your inability to gain weight. You lost the weight within a short amount of time, as I recall. You've been able to rule out your thyroid and MC, which you now have under control. Have you done any research on the Internet for "sudden weight loss?"
Your brother sounds very compassionate and supportive.

That is good news about your thyroid. Our friends had a friend named Scharf in OH. It might have been Lenny but that is our friend's name so maybe I'm mixed up about it. (A long shot any way.)
My computer is not behaving either. It receives email but doesn't send at the moment. I can't even email my friend to ask.

I hate to throw in *me* but have to right now---cus I have a SIL who just was a total bitch to me---and to my family--sooo I finally *erased* her from my mind--thoughts and feelings---including my niece and nephew--who unfortunately were GROOMED by SIL--sad to say--
And know what Jodi---I realize that making people miserable was what my SIL luved to do---cus in her MIND it made her feel *IN CHARGE of ALL*
So now she is a thing of the past---

Since my phone call with my brother last night believe me I've been doing alot of soul searching today. I know that my husband truly loves me and cares about me very much. Sometimes however if I need to express my feelings about the situation with our daughter and SIL he will stop me from expressing myself by telling me he doesn't want to hear it anymore. So I keep everything inside. I seem to be keeping many things inside because I'm afraid of making everyone else uncomfortable. Some how I'm going to have to open up and let it all out at one time and deal with the fall out all at once. Not sure when or if I'm secure enough to do it yet but I'm going to have to do something soon before I'm in real medical trouble and deep inside I feel I'm very close to being at that very point.
Thank You all for being here for me, say a prayer or two that I grow the balls to bring all I'm feeling out in the open.

Ron Paul is not a native Texan, but as the saying goes, "he got here as fast as he could", and he served as a doctor, (an OB/GYN), for many years before getting into politics. Currently, he is arguably the foremost political advocate of personal freedoms, the constitution, and less big government in our lives. Here's a pretty good description of him:

Jody im glad to hear of your good news with the thyroid...that must be a relief..its possible that all those issues you are bottling up and supressing are the cause of your weight loss...its time to have a major emotional outlet and get these issues out of your system...you will probably find that the people involved with these problems..eg family..will respect you for your bravery and getting straight to the point. That way they will see the true you and realise you are not going to take their crap anymore.
