Now my PM's to you are stuck in my out box! I don't know why or how to send them.
Thanks for the idea to use Tara's vet for a reference. The Ohio vet has retired from his practice but DH still talks to him every once in a while. DH may have even called him from the motel when we were in OH. He LOVED Tara.
I can't even remember our vet in NE other than he was a mobile vet and he called his practice "The Ark". That was the greatest thing in the world. He'd come in the house and give Tara her shots etc. It was really hard on her (to say nothing of embarrassing) to take her to the regular vet where all 70 something pounds of her shook like crazy.......

Your outbound PMs remain in your Outbox until the addressee opens them. Usually, when someone doesn't open a PM, they are either unable to access their computer, or they have the PM Pop-up notification option deselected in their profile, (or they have all pop-ups turned off in their browser). For example, I still have a PM addressed to you in my Outbox, dated July 20th.
If you do not notice that the PM flag is on, (indicating a new, unread PM), and you log off, the system will not notify you again, about that same PM. That's why it's important to allow the Pop-up notification to operate - it keeps you from overlooking a PM. The "Notify on new Private Message" option allows the system to send an e-mail notification to a recipient, but sometimes that doesn't work as well, due to lags in e-mail delivery, (for example, if you log off before checking your e-mail, and then notice the e-mail notification later, when you log on again, the system will show that you have no new PMs, (because it had previously notified you, and you logged off without reading the PMs, so it flagged them as read). The PMs will still be there, they just won't be flagged as unread. All you have to do is go to your Inbox and locate them. See if you can find the one that I sent you on July 20th, for example. Personally, I always use the Pop-up notification, because it's too easy to overlook a PM without it.
Maybe Carrie just hasn't had the time available to check her PMs today, or maybe she's still hassling with her new computer and the Vista operating system. For all I know, it may disallow pop-ups by default. I tried Vista for a few weeks, a little over a year ago, didn't like too many things about it, and went back to XP. My biggest objection to it is that it overdoes the firewall and security stuff to such a ridiculous degree that it's almost unusable for certain purposes, unless you have the patience of Job, and plenty of time on your hands, to allow you to fiddle with it.
