hi from sunny

Post by sunny »

I've been out of touch for about a month now....everytime I tried to sign in, my password wasn't recognized.....oh well, kept reading and would try again another day. No luck....wrote to Tex...didn't get thru. Tried again today and voila!! it worked!!...what happened? mystery solved....I was using the wrong password. duh!!!!
anyhow...nice to see new people on board and the "old folks" still plugging away!!
am doing well....still having the ocasional relapse....Dr. at OHSU suggested one immodium and one pepto bismol twice a day. i asked her if we were still treating the LC and she said yes, it takes time for the gut to heal even with the dietary changes I have been making. So that is working well and I am down to just one PB in am and one immodium in the pm and I am getting out lots more and getting busy which is nice after 6 months being homebound. woohoo

To the newies....hang in there with this board and learn from the experts......and give up the gluten!!! the sooner you do, the better you will feel.
more to come.......

Hi Sunny,

It's good to see you posting again. I was wondering where in the world you had disappeared to. I'm glad you're still making progress.

Once in a great while, an e-mail gets lost in cyberspace. In the future, if you e-mail me and don't get a response, please try again, or e-mail someone else, and have them relay the message to me. Sometimes, too, an e-mail gets caught in a spam filter, and I overlook it when reviewing them.

I agree with your doctor - it takes a lot longer for the gut to heal than most people realize. That's an interesting treatment - one immodium and one pepto, twice a day. That might be worth a try for others who are trying to control their symptoms, while waiting for the diet to get the job done.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

thanks for the "welcome homes!"
I sill have cramping some days and my guess is it happens as food is passing through some areas that are unhealed and thus sensitive . But now the cramps are not followed by the big D. they just are there and then an hour or tow later, Norman shows up!! Nice to see so many new folks on board!!
