What I Found Out Yesterday
Hello Everyone:
Yesterday started out really nasty! Went to go pee in the a.m. and there was blood in my urine. My urine was the color of RUST and I was not a happy person.
My first thoughts were.........OMG here I go again with kidney stones! I have had to have 2 removed within a month of each other about 5 years ago and am NOT looking forward to ever having to go through that kind of pain ever ever again!
Like a good girl I went to the GP he was able to get me in right away. They took a urine sample and YUP there was blood in my urine.........DAH!!!!!!!!!!!! Like I didn't already know that? But it should NO signs of infection of anykind. Doc said he was going to send the sample to the lab to see what it showed and I should know sometime today. He did give me 3 days dosage of 500mg tablets of Levaquin. Took my first dose when I had my supper last night.
This a.m. my urine is now clear. Am still uncertain about the possibility of another kidney stone. Arghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doc said depending on what the labs showed I may have to go to Dr. O. my urologist to have some kind of scope done. I can't remember how to pronounce it let alone spell it but he discribed it as a scope is inserted up your ureathia (sp ?). I told Doc "That sounds like fun." being sarcastic and he told me point blank "It's not going to be fun". I can tell you right now, if this has to be done to me then someone is going to either KNOCK ME OUT or give me something before hand that makes NOT CARE WHAT'S GOING ON!
Have an appointment today to see Dr. Diola my Lupus specialist for a regular 6 month check up and to have a bone density test run. Sooooooo I will be busy again today. Will try to post any updates from GP and anything unusual from Dr. Diola.
WELCOME HOME ANGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joan I hope you're doing better today, keep me posted.
Love and God Bless To All!

Is the scope thingy called a cystogram that your doc stated that you may have to have????
My sister had to have one last year because of microcopic blood in her urine.
She didn't state that it caused her to have any pain or discomfort.
Hopefully, you will luck out and not even have to have any scope done..

How about.......... Cystoscopy is a test that allows your doctor to look at the interior lining of the bladder and the urethra.
My husband had many and I've had two. Over the years they have become pretty painless. Bill's first ones were pretty bad but they have better "scopes" now.
Good Luck,
Shirley

Thank You for sharing Shirley. At least I'm not as worried now about having it done knowing that they've changed the way they do the procedure. Hopefully I won't have to have it done since my urine labs came back that I do have UTI. I'm on Leviguin 750 mgs for 4 days then 500mgs for 2 or 3 days. My urine this morning is alot clearer then it was Tuesday morning and even though it's still darker in color it's lightened up quite a bit.

Jodi,
I don't recall if you are taking Entocort or not, but if you are, be very, very careful when reaching/stretching, etc., because Levaquin carries a significant risk of causing major tendons to rupture, especially when it's taken along with a corticosteroid.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
