Rice Chex Test
Hi All,
Okay, I started the day with 2.8 ounces, (2.8 servings), of Rice Chex, and not long thereafter, I was a bit bloated. By early afternoon, (about 4 to 5 hours later, IOW), I had the start of a slight headache, and a few light upper body aches and pains, but no D. I just finished forcing down another 2.5 servings, so we'll see what happens.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Here's the outcome:
After the second dose, I had more bloating, and the headache and upper body aches and pains got bad enough that I took a couple of tylenol, so that I would be able to sleep, but no D.
This morning, I'm feeling great. I did notice, though, that I had difficulty swallowing a couple of large glucosamine sulphate with condroitin pills, and a fish oil capsule, and a flax oil capsule didn't want to go down very easily. That always happens during the final stages of a reaction, (for me, at least). I even noticed it when I was getting over the flu, but yesterday, those pills went down like greased lightening, so that also confirms a reaction of some type.

Joan,
I don't understand why you feel that they are off-limits for you. Just because some people react to them does not guarantee that you will react to them. Of course, it may be best to avoid them, until you are in remission, so that you can tell if they have any effect on you.

I'm scared to eat them and most everything else.
I thought you were reacting to them, Tex.......
I've been feeling really lousy so you'll have to forgive me. I went to "Doc in the Box" as they call urgent care centers down here. Doc told me there are only 3,500 possible reasons for nausea. Doing blood work for liver and gallbladder. Don't know what else. (My blood pressure was up.)
I see my regular internal med/endocrinologist on Wed. for a regularly scheduled appointment. DH keeps telling me to change from her.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor and don't play one on TV.

Joan,
I do react, (bloating, aches & pains), but no D. That means it could be something other than Gluten that's bothering me.
I hope you can figure out what's causing your problems pretty soon.
