Barb:

I myself has never had Melanoma but my niece is fighting it right now.

If you have some concerns let me know what they are and I will gladly ask her if she's had anything similar happen to her to help get answers for you.

I do know that she received an chemo cream of some sort that she had to put on that caused her many of the same symptoms having IV chemo except she did not have any hair loss with it.

Love and God Bless:

Jodi----thanks for responding----I thought it was U that had mentioned it--

I had two leasions removed----I am due to see Derma in 2 weeks and my concern now is that --I appear to have a similar little dark spot about 2 inches from where the first one was removed--which to me looked like a little freckle but thankfully Derma--scheduled me for surgery and thats what the diagnosis was---this was in 04--
WE so see her every 4 months and I do have X-rays taken every year--of the lungs cus Derma said thats the first place it would show up if it should spread---

---this spot appears to be very ITCHY (which never occured with the other 2) and thats what I was wondering---is a constant ITCH a systom of a melanoma??? did your niece suffer with this itching----and how was her melanoma detected--??

I did google it but I just didnt get any great info as to an *itch* being a symptom

Thanks much for offering to add some info----but please dont bother your niece if she isnt feeling well--

appreciate your time---I shall know in 2 weeks and will let U know ---

Barbara,

Yes, "itching" can be a symptom of melanoma.

Mrs. Columbo,

Well, an answer that's not honest, is not worth much, most of the time. Besides, there are a heck of a lot of skin blemishes that itch, that aren't melanoma, so that's not a sure sign of anything. I certainly hope that it's something else, and the odds are in favor of it being something else, too.

It never rains here anymore, anyway, but if you should ever need to wipe your feet, rest assured that I can whip it off the wall in a flash.

By the way, Jill has had to deal with melanoma, in the past year or two, as I recall. You may have been thinking of her.

melanoma

Post by Carol Arnett »

Barbara, I have a blackish spot just above the collar bone and it itches like crazy all the time. Derma said NOT melanoma. I asked about having it removed just because of the itching and he said insurance would`nt pay because they would consider it cosmetic.

Praying you have a "cosmetic" problem. Love, Carol
