Hey everyone. I just wanted to give an update. Camryn has only had D 1 or 2 times a day now for a few weeks. Yesterday was the best day in 6 months. She only went once and it was completely solid....no D around it. It was a big turd....yay!!! The gf diet has done wonders for her. We finally took away the chocolate completely and I think that is why we finally got a completely solid BM.

She hasn't gone yet today, which I think is a good sign. I can't wait to get the enterolab results back. I'm hoping they will be back sometime next week. What is the quickest anyone has gotten their results back?

I went to the dentist today and asked him if he thought Camryn's condition might affect her teeth. He said if she has malabsorption it might affect her adult teeth and they might have white spots on them. I really hope that doesn't happen.

That's fantastic news! Hopefully she will be on the mend now.

It's been a year since I sent for my Enterolab tests. I believe it took 2 weeks a year ago. The time could have changed since then. They tell you three weeks so that you don't start getting worried, I'm sure. I seem to remember that they sent the results or the notification that the results were available via email.

That's really some great news. I hope she doesn't shift all the way to C, but if that happens, a diet correction should solve the problem.

As I recall, my test results arrived in slightly less than two weeks, (by e-mail, on a Sunday afternoon, believe it or not).

Some of us end up with serious tooth enamel issues, but that's probably because, as your dentist suggested, we suffered from gluten intolerance, and malabsorption issues, for a number of years, before we adopted the GF diet. As quickly as Camryn's symptoms have been resolved, after her gut completely heals, if she follows the diet faithfully, she shouldn't have any malabsorption issues. IOW, malabsorption is only a risk when gluten intolerance is not properly treated, (by following a strict GF diet).

It's great to hear that things are going so well for her.

Thanks for the update.

Three weeks for my EL results for the gluten panel. Two weeks for the soy, yeast and eggs.

Angy,

So did mine. I had great teeth all my life, but when the symptoms started, I couldn't believe how fast they deteriorated. Once the diet started working, my teeth stabilized, but for a couple of years, before I figured out what was wrong, there was a lot of damage. Getting fillings was almost a regular, monthly ritual.

Unless you're one of those rare individuals for whom the diet does not stop the symptoms, (especially the malabsorption problem), the condition of your teeth should begin to stabilize pretty soon, with any luck at all. Lets hope so, anyway.

Hopefully her teeth won't be affected. Her poops were great over the weekend! One was so solid that she said "look Mommy, its a candle!"...haha. She gets all excited now when they are solid and she'll say "Solid poop, good poop Mommy". She is even doing better w/the potty training now.

Any ideas for Halloween candy? I figure I'll make up a bag of gluten free candy and chips....then I'll switch it with her "glutened" candy bag at the end of the night.
