Hey, Kathy!!

Post by Sally »

I was there Saturday at the Front Porch Stage listening to all the zydeco. I kept having this craving for a shrimp po' boy sandwhich.

I ended up not going to Buddy Guy on Friday because I figured the place would be mobbed and it would be hard for me to drive my new scooter through all those people. As it turned out, my son Mike was there and he said it was elbow to eyeball. I have lots of Buddy's CD's anyway.

Yesterday I went with a friend to listen to gospel music and then we went on a Blues Cruise with a performer we both know, Joe McMurrian. He does accoustic Delta Blues and plays at the White Eagle in Portland every Tueday night. (Nothing like doing a little PR!!!)

It is one great town party!!

Today I am home hiding under the bed with the cat. Two days of all those people and I am wore out.

Next year lets plan to meet somewhere, ok?

Lots of love,

Sally and her new blue scooter named Blue Mama

Hi Sally,

That sounds great! I would love to meet with you. I've never tried the blues cruise in Portland, I'm sure it would be a lot of fun. A few years ago we did a blues cruise to several caribbean islands, all the music was blues and zydeco. Best time I have ever had!

I was there (Portland) Sunday, about 2pm. When was the gospel music, early Sunday? I heard some gospel from the main stage.

Lots of people on Friday night and on Sunday. Great weather too.

I know the White Eagle, I used to work in a dental clinic up the hill from it, been in there a few times. Acoustic delta blues is my favorite!

We are leaving for the Winthrop blues festival on Thursday. It is the 3rd week of July, but we are going early, John wants to get away from work! We did a big 4th party here on our block yesterday and I need a day to rest! I don't do busy very well any more.

Talk to ya later.

Love, KathyP

Jaco, a parrot in Salzburg, could not only speak but seemed to understand grammar. Whenever his person left, Jaco would say "God be with you." But when several people were departing, Jaco would change it to "God be with all of you."

Hi Sally,
What kind of scooter did you get? Is it like a Vespa or like Momster's scooter?

Hi, Hazel, Like Momster's scooter. Mine is blue.

Hi, Kathy, I would love to get together with you. When? Where?

The Gospel Music started at noon. You must have caught the tail end of it at 2. If you like accoustic blues, I am sure you would like Joe. Unfortunately his set doesn't start until about 9 pm which is a little too late for me to get started on something. That is my bed time. Hearing him live at the fest was a great treat.

I'll send you a PM with my address and phone number.

Love,

Sally
