Sorry, Angy. My docs are ticking me off, too.
I had to send my regular doc (internal med/endocrinolgy) my final reports from my sigmoidoscopy. I put a little note with the URL for EnteroLab in case she wanted to see the research.
At my appointment with her, I told her how I hated the GI practice and canceled DH's appointment with that group. I told her how I had 2 procedures and only saw GI in the hospital and that it took several months to see her in the office. (We were going to be out of town on one date they gave me.)
DH, on the other hand, saw his doc in the office and had blood tests at the hospital before his scheduled procedure. I had to have him cancel the colonoscopy because I wasn't sure if I would be able to drive him. He was supposed to do 2 days of liquid diet and I didn't want that to be all for naught.

Oh!! thats a shame jlh.. Doesnt it just tick you off at the length of time to wait for appointments with these docs 
I would really like to invest in BUPA .private health care...with that i can get an appointment like immediatly...But im just a poor working class girl..
Poor DH hope he gets this sorted soon and gets another appointment really soon...

No, DH is fine as far as we know. It will be his "first". I am the one who may not be able to take him to his appointment. That's why I had him cancel it. It would be pretty bad for him to be on a liquid diet for 2 days etc. and not be able to do the test because of me.

In many ways, we have a great health care system here, but obviously, it leaves a lot to be desired in many areas. The biggest problems are that it has been shackled by unscrupulous liability lawyers for many years, so doctors have learned to not take unnecessary chances, and the insurance companies pretty much set the rules on who gets what treatments, how long patients remain in the hospital, etc. IOW, how can medical professionals perform at their best, when the insurance companies and the lawyers are constantly trying to micromanage every little detail of health care?
Enterolab is the only facility in the world that offers those types of tests - we just happen to be fortunate that it is located here. Actually, there is a lab in Italy that has independently proved, (and published their findings), the validity of the procedures that Dr. Fine's lab follows, but as far as I am aware, they do not offer any of those tests on a commercial basis, possibly because they felt that they could not circumvent the international patents that Dr. Fine holds on his test procedures.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
