It is nice to see many of us are interested and will join the idea of having a meeting...
I am sorry for those who cannot join due to different personal reasons, which I fully understand. Do not feel down for that, your positive reaction to the suggestion is enough. I really appreciate your friendship. If you cannot join, you will be in our hearts...
what about making a list of places suggested?
Love,
Tessa.

Hey Sally,
What say you and I make a glacier landing, and spend an entire summer on the glacier. I'm with you about the heat!
May be a while before I'll be doing any traveling due to caregiving. Not a Vegas person, but my good buddy was stationed there for a while, and really loved the climate.
Sally, I suggest you visit Miami in the dead of winter. That's the tourist season there anyway. I've been there in August -- wouldn't do THAT again! My folks were married in Miami, and lived in Vero Beach for a while afterwards (WWII). My dad was a Navy pilot.
In '53, we all went back and visited their old stomping grounds. It hadn't changed much then, but now, it's totally different.
Since someone mentioned
San Antonio, Corpus isn't all that far from there. It's a beautiful city, and Padre Island is nearby. The state aquarium is there, and it's a great one. I've seen others, and this one is high on the list. Might be too far off the beaten path, however. Probably Southwest Air would fly there. Hope there still IS a SW Air, is there?
Seafood is wonderful anywhere along the Gulf Coast, not that I could eat it the way I used to, but I get shrimp grilled, and it's delicious.
Oh, and if it's birding season. bring your binoculars! Tourists come from all over in droves to areas nearby, just to see the migratories and seabirds. I prefer the migratories -- also, cooler weather then.
Just throwing this out for the fun of it, but my heart's set on the glacier!
Yours, Luce

Babci,
San Antonio is at the northerneastern edge of what's known as the Texas Wintergarden Area. IOW, the area seldom sees hard freezes. It does get cool, especially when a blue norther blows through, but by Northern standards, San Antonio has very mild winters.
Sally,
I don't believe any of the glaciers have ever made it all the way down to Texas.
Love,
Wayne

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
