A very sad week.......Logan is now in the arms of the angels

Post by jodibelle352 »

Sorry I haven't stopped in this past week but sometimes we are needed by others during their time of need.
On Sunday, September 21st at 12:30a.m. Brian Taylor and Angie Reynolds were on their way home after spending the evening with family and friends making party favors and wrapping prizes for the Baby Shower that was to take place at 2:00p.m. the same day.
It only took an instant for the whole world to change for this young couple. Believe me when I say their lives were diffinately changed.
An 18 yr. old who had been partying and very drunk hit the car Angie and Brian were in broadside. Angie took the full impact of the collision. She was 8 months pregnant with a Baby Boy; Logan. The uterus was severed and the imbilical cord cut causing the baby to bleed to death. By the time medic's came and jaws of life used to free both Brian and Angie it was too late for Baby Logan.
If my words seem too graphic it's because this accident was graphic, tragic and happens way to often.
My 20 yr. old Grand-daughter; Erica is Angie and Brian's best friend and I have been spending time with her and trying the best I can to help her understand things that I myself don't even understand.
Logan is now in the arms of the angels, far away from here. But his Mother is fighting for her life and is still in a coma. Brian was released from the hospital on Saturday but is very lost and emotionally torn apart.
There is a site: www.justiceforlogan.com that you can go to if you would like. At the end of the site there is another site you can click on to so you can light a candle for Logan and his family. It will only take a minute of your time and this family can use as many prayers you can share.
Love and God Bless:
Jodi

This is the article from the Flint Journal.

Stuart Bauer | The Flint JournalLillie Reynolds of Grand Blanc Township is the mother of Angella Reynolds (in photo at right), 21, of Grand Blanc Township, who lost her unborn son in a crash caused by a drunk driver last weekend in Tuscola County. Lillie Reynolds fears she may also lose her daughter, who remains in a coma. "He (the drunk driver) took my grandson. He may take my daughter too," she said. "The nurse said she could pass and to be prepared one way or the other. I don't know how you could prepare for that."
VASSAR TOWNSHIP, Michigan -- A chaplain at Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw baptized the lifeless body of Logan Troy Taylor, following a crash that ripped the child from his mother's belly in the eighth month of her pregnancy.

"He's my first grandchild," said Lillie J. Reynolds, 50, of Grand Blanc, who requested Logan be baptized because her daughter Angella remains in a coma fighting for her life. "He was the most beautiful little baby in the world.

"He was born on Sept. 21 and weighed four pounds, eight ounces and was 17 inches long," she said with the pride of a grandmother, despite choking back her emotions.

Logan died after a car crash in at 12:30 a.m. Sunday in rural Tuscola County about 2 miles north of Millington.

An 18-year-old Vassar resident, Travis J. Davis, faces charges of drunken driving causing the death of a fetus for the crash in which his vehicle struck the passenger side door of a vehicle driven by Brian Taylor, 23, of Vassar, Logan's father.

Taylor's passenger was Angella L. Reynolds, 21, of Grand Blanc who was eight months pregnant with Logan.

Reynolds suffered severe injuries and initially was in critical condition at Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw, but was transferred to Hurley Medical Center via helicopter because they didn't think she could survive an ambulance ride.

The wreckage of the crash sliced off the top of Angella Reynold's uterus, Lillie Reynolds said. "He flew out. The umbilical cord was severed and he bled to death."

Angella Reynolds remains in a coma and suffered several broken bones and internal injuries, Lillie Reynolds said.

"She's on life support and it'll be two to three weeks before doctors will say whether or not she will live," Lillie Reynolds said.

Taylor was in fair condition Wednesday at Hurley Medical Center in Flint and is slated for an operation this afternoon. Davis' passenger Juan G. Palomares, 18, of Vassar, to Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw, where he was treated and released.

Davis was treated at Caro Community Hospital in Caro before being taken to the Tuscola County Jail.

Lillie Reynolds said she was grateful to the staff at Covenant for cleaning up her grandchild, getting footprints and thumbprints and taking pictures of him, which they will show at his funeral.

She is also grateful to the staff clergy for taking the child to the baptismal and baptizing him in the Nazarene faith with holy water.

"They dedicated the child to the Lord," she said.

Angella Reynolds was working on a farm in Davison when she got pregnant, and gave up the job because of there were pesticides used on the farm.

"She had taken some college classes at Baker (College) and was planning on taking some winter courses at Delta," the grandmother said.

"She was going to be a nurse."

If she lives, she will not walk for about a year, doctors told Lillie Reynolds.

"It's a miracle that she's even alive," the grandmother said. "She's a tough little girl."

The family gave the child the last name of Taylor because the parents were making wedding plans for July, although an exact date was not set, the grandmother said.

Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road in Grand Blanc, is handling Logan's funeral arrangements.

There are no immediate plans because family say they plan to have the child cremated and wait to see if the mother survives, so she can attend the formal funeral.

Jodi,

So sorry to read such a tragic story and my heart and prayers go out to everyone involved and I so hope Angie makes it and have the joy when recovered to welcome a new Logan to the world. When will the horrendous tragedy that drunk drivers cause end?

Love and blessings to all, Maggie

This is the first I've had a chance to log on for several days, and my heart aches for this young couple and the pain this family is experiencing. I will be looking for updates here as you know anything. This family is now on my prayer list.

Hi Jodi

Thank you for sharing this story, although very sad, it gives us the opportunity to join the prayers for that family who has suffered and suffers a lot of pain.

I am sure that Logan is in good hands now and had a warm welcome in heaven.
