Courtney, Welcome!!! I am a newbie as well. I fell I am half way to remission, just by the mere fact that I have a place to get "real" answers to my LC related problems. Doctors are great (well, some are anyway) but "it takes one to know one". Some here have really had to suffer with this terrible disease for a long time. We, who are new here, benefit from their wisdom and experiences.

To expand on Tex's comment on lab tests, I feel that Enterolab testing has helped me to realize what I can't eat, and provided me with more knowledge toward achieving remission. That's just my feelings on its importance though, I'm committed to going "drug free", if possible. I have a hypothyroid condition as well and am thinking about switching to a natural medication.

Good luck

Thank you all for the warm welcomes! I can tell that this community is going to be such a great resource and support. My family is very sympathetic, but unless you've been there, it's hard to know what MC is like.
