Last night was horrible. She was up screaming in pain for about an hour and a half. It was at about 3am. She was doubled over in stomach pain (and diaper rash pain). She had watery diarrhea (could it be a delayed reaction to some gluten she ate over the weekend?). I felt so bad. She was reacting so badly that I worried it was appedicitis or a bowel obstruction.
My husband is taking her today to get some blood work taken (not related to what happened last night). It is so frustrating to not understand where the pain is.

I'm very sorry to hear about such a bad night, but I really doubt that her problem could be due to a delayed gluten reaction. You may need to let a doc examine her, in case something else is going on.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

JLH - She is doing better now. I'm not sure what caused all the pain. She goes back to the Dr. on 11/18, so we'll see what she says. She got her bloodwork done yesterday for autoimmune diseases. They said it takes 3-4 weeks for it to come back. That seems like a long time.
GO PHILLIES!!!!! :)

It's good to see that she's doing better. 3 to 4 weeks sure does seem like a long time to wait for results on blood tests, even for autoimmune diseases. I had a test done for Hashimoto's, a couple of weeks ago, and they had to send a sample to California, to get those results, but the California lab faxed the results back within 5 days from the day the sample was drawn, and that included a weekend.
Thanks for the update.

Camryn is doing much better today. I'm trying to potty train her and I put underwear on her. I told her only to go "pee pee and poopy" on the potty. I walked out of the room for a minute and she took off her underwear, dumped a big bin of toys and peed in the bin. She was so proud of herself....she said she peed on the potty...lol. Anyhow, she went #2 in her underwear (potty training isn't going perfectly) and it was 100% solid....the underwear barely had a stain on them. What a difference this gluten free diet has made!
PS - Camryn LOVES the yummy earth lollipops that were suggested! They will be great for halloween.

She may grow up to be a real comedienne, some day.
It sure does sound as though the diet is working really well, though. That should make the trials and tribulations of potty training a lot easier on everyone involved, also.
She's made one of the fastest recoveries we've ever seen on this board, considering that it was done without meds to speed up the process. Her continuing progress is really good news. I'll bet she'll wow her doctors when they see her.
