Hi guys - thanks for helping me. I was able to follow Peg's and found exactly what was referenced, however - it still don't work - the box WAS checked.
Here is what I think happened. Maybe you would be able to help from this explanation.
I downloaded a pest/virus/firewall, etc. program and when I ran the first scan for pests, I deleted all of them and this is the only program which doesn't work. Everything works except for the animation.
I can see the pictures but they just don't animate. Any other suggestions? What if I delete the program/link and then have the link emailed to me again? Just a suggestion.
I am totally confused - this is the only program that it doesn't work on. That is realy strange!
Thanks for the brain storming!
PS = I rebooted also and it still doesn't help. ????????????????/

When you say that this is the only program that doesn't work, are you implying that smilies and other amimations on the internet, that go through your browser, work correctly? Is your e-mail client part of your browser package, or separate? If it's integrated, do animated smilies work correcly in e-mails? Is your anti-virus/firewall etc., by any chance a Symantec produce, (Norton)?
Do what I suggested, before you start deleting anything.

P S If you follow the practice of arbitrarily deleting everything that some of the "spybot" type programs suggest, you will find that you probaby won't be able to update various software products, including some by Microsoft. It pays to use discression when deleting alleged "spyware". None of that should affect your browsers ability to display animations, however. You may have to uninstall and re-install your browser, if you can't resolve the problem the way I suggested in my previous post.

All other animations work on the internet and my email and IM.tex wrote:When you say that this is the only program that doesn't work, are you implying that smilies and other amimations on the internet, that go through your browser, work correctly? Mail is Microsoft Outlook, I use Internet Exployer as my browser.
I am using eTrust Antivirus/spam/pest/firewall.
I will try what you suggested on the other post and let you know. PS - the box at Java is checked and working properly.
Thanks for the help!

Since you're using IE, what Peg suggested should work. In IE, that selection should be listed under internet options, advanced.
I have found eTrust to provide the most stable, reliable, and safest anti-virus program on the market, and I highly recommend it, but I have no experience with any "pest" program that they provide. (I assume that you are referring to spyware, with the term "pest").
If truly everything other than this BB works correctly, then I don't see a simple solution, since you are not able to modify the software of this BB. If your "pest"/firewall program is blocking animation, it is because it perceives the use of cookies as invasive, and unless you can restore the default settings, and/or any applets that you deleted, you may be stuck with the current situation.
A word to the wise--anytime you are checking for spyware, and deleting whatever is found, consider the sources of those executables very carefully, before you delete them, because some are vital for proper operation of certain programs, and even operating systems. If, for example, you deleted anything connected with "phpBB" that might be the problem. You would not want to delete an applet connected with MS, either, since that could prevent you from updating/upgrading your operating system.
One more queston: How are you selecting the smilies? I just stop typing wherever I want to add one, and leftclick on the smilie that I want.

I'm opening the "View more Emoticons" and then left click on the smiley. Same as you.

Well, your smilies are looking good on this end.
One way to rule out the browser would be to try a different browser, like netscape, mozilla, opera, etc.
