Miracles come and GO-the girls

Kaits medtronics implement is malfunctioning----and pain is back to 8-9--so again back to Long Island for an adjustment----just hope that this isnt leading to the fact that she might NOT be a good candidate for this implant!!!--
Kait's words to Lynn---*mom I hope I can finish community college cus I dont want people to think I am a failure!!!
Kait still doesnt realize what a *winner* she has been thru everything~~~

Kristyn is having difficulty at Syracuse---everybody is very nice to her but she isnt IN with a group---appears after *whatever* she ends up in her room---she called Lynn--is depressed--wants to leave Syracuse--
Kris---Maybe I should have gone to a smaller college--nobody asks me along--so she is going to see the psychiatrist there--- :listen: about her issues and she wants depression meds!!! :thud:

In 2 breaths Lynn is feeling like she is *alive* and then she gets smacked down again---but she forgers ahead--god luve her---Lynn has inherited Louie's strength----

Wonder why I wasnt on that *positive-strength* line when I entered this world!!!
:didimiss:

Guess one just has to roll with the punches--but must keep getting up~~~~

Barb,

Does Kris have a major yet? Even at a big school like Syracuse she will find people with like interests when she starts to take courses in her major. It is very early in her college career to give up. College is a big change for everyone, from the cozy world of high school. It just looks to her like everyone else is having more fun, but probably most of them feel just like she does. Besides if you have TOO much fun at college you aren't there very long! I hope she'll hang in there.

Also I sure hope Kait's new implement can be adjusted.

Good luck, Grandma!

Yes, first semester is so hard in college...you feel like you just want to be home with your old friends. But honestly, many of those friends are off to college too so home isn't as fun as it used to be. Tell Kris to hang in there. Perhaps she should invite 1 or 2 people to do something she wants to do. I know I was never very good at that, but instead of waiting for someone to decide to be friends with her, she could decide to be friends with someone.

Hope Kait's issue is a little adjustment.

Oh, yes, please tell Kris to hang in there! Especially if the problem is social and not academic. I lost one of my best students this fall to something similar, and it breaks my heart. She went home early. I'm glad she's going to see the counselor. They are trained to deal with things like that. Tell Kris just to try to make it through the semester. Is it possible for her to come home on weekends at all? That might help. I'm not sure what Syracuse's schedule is, but at my school classes end the first week of December and then we have a week of exams. That's only about another month and a half. She's made it this far! And spring really is a whole different ballgame...

Best of luck to Kait, too. I hope things work out for her and she's able to accomplish her goals.

You hang in there, too! It's so hard to watch people you love go through things...

Love,

Courtney
