Here is something i copied and pasted off the PatriotGuards website under their section about their history of how they got started. This is the group i was talking about. Dp a google search on Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church and read about them, if you can stomach it. Cut and pasted from PatriotGuard website:

It all started back in early August of 2005 with the American Legion Riders chapter 136 from Kansas. They were appalled to hear that a fallen hero’s memory was being tarnished by misguided religious zealots who were protesting at funerals. They decided to do something about it. At the ALR 136 August meeting, Director: Chuck " Pappy " Barshney appointed members, Terry “Darkhorse” Houck, Cregg “Bronco 6” Hansen, Steve “McDaddy” McDonald, and Bill ”Wild Bill” Logan to form a committee to strategize and form a battle plan to combat Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church.

Just wanted to let you know that that horrible group showed up when the funerals were to be held in Lancaster when the girls were killed in the school. The veterans stood firm and made sure they were not close to the farms.

The are truly a hatriolic group.

There is a guy here in Flagstaff who stands on the corner with an upside down american flag holding a board sayiing that 9/11 was a lie as well- only he was wearing his vet attire which makes it even worse... I never really stopped and told me my frame of mind like SOOOOOO many other people did.

The men and women who died for you, me and the country enabled us to have the right of speech, assembly etc etc... so even how much I disagree with these inhumane "people" I still have to respect their right of speech... No matter how wrong I think it is.

But I am a FIRM believer in whatever comes around goes around... so he will get his and she will get hers....

I will ride my bike for that cause any day the week...

Both grandfathers served in WWII, dad just missed Nam, Uncle served in first Iraq war, brother-in-law served in second Iraq war and is heading to Afgannystan as we speak, many friends in Iraq as we speak- some fell in Iraq and others were lucky enough to make it out... nieghbors son just came home, the list goes on and on and on...

And if anyone were to protest at any one of their funerals, I dont think I would be able to control myself and NOT shoot them myself...
