MC in children
Is there a way to look up old topics? My DIL just told me that her friend's four year old son (in Seattle) has been diagnosed with colitis. She didn't tell me what kind but I thought I'd look up the old messages to and from the other moms of small chidren who have colitis and look for some information/advice there.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Kathy,
To the best of my knowledge, here are the members who have children who have been diagnosed with MC:
meagan'smom never posted, but she has a daughter with MC, who was six years old at the time of registration to the board, in September, 2005.
KourtneysMOM joined in March, 2007, and her daughter had been diagnosed at the age of only 16 months. She posted seven times, and you can read her posts here:
http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/searc ... urtneysMOM
D's Mom joined in July, 2007, and never posted, nor did she leave any clues in her profile, so I have no way of knowing whether it was she, or her child who had MC. Some members' usernames suggest that they might have a child with MC, but actually it is they themselves, who have the disease. For example, ajsmom514 actually had MC herself, rather than her child.
Camryn'sMommy, of course, we are all familiar with and she has written 53 posts, that you can read here:
http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/searc ... n%27sMommy
ronipow joined in May, 2005, and at the time of registration, I believe that her daughter was 16, and I seem to recall that she had been diagnosed at the age of 15, but I'm not sure about that. I didn't reread her posts - perhaps that information is in one of them. She wrote 113 posts, that you can read here:
http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/searc ... or=ronipow
I may have missed some whom I can't recall at the moment, or who never posted, and didn't leave any clues in their profile that they have a child with MC.
If you want to try to contact any of them by e-mail, to see how they are doing, and/or if they were able to resolve their child's symptoms, I suppose that wouldn't be a breech of privacy, since their email address should be available to other legitimate members of this board. If, for some reason or other, you aren't able to "see" their e-mail addresses, (in the memberlist), just let me know, and I can retrieve them for you.
I find it remarkable that all the diagnosed child cases reported here, (to date), have been girls, with not a single boy on the list, so this new case would be the first one.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hazel,
I would be more than happy to talk with her - if she wants to call me or on email. You can send me an email by clicking on the "E-mail" button at the bottom of this window.
My daughter is 2 1/2 and has Lymphocytic Colitis - dx'd by sigmoidoscopy in August.

Wow - i just read the posts from KourtneysMOM. The similarities between her daughter and Camryn are crazy! Camryn was listed as "failure to thrive", she was breastfed until 9 months, I have endometriosis like her Mom and they were born at the exact same weight (6lbs 3oz). I wish I could talk to her, but her email isn't posted. Tex, can you retrieve her email for me? I'd like to know how her daughter is doing now and if she went through any kind of treatment.

Camryn'sMommy,
I hope you don't mind, but I edited your post to remove your e-mail address. Discussion boards such as this get hit by "zillions" of spambots every day, searching for e-mail addresses to add to their databases. Any legitimate member who wants to send you an e-mail, (or see your e-mail address), simply has to click on the "E-mail" button at the bottom of your posts, in order to do that, but that information is hidden to spambots, and/or non-member viewers, by special changes that I have made to the code that operates this board. (Try viewing the board without loggin in, and you will discover that you cannot see that information, along with a lot of other personal information that is hidden to anonymous viewers, for security reasons).
This helps to keep us from being "spammed to death", or harassed by troublemakers, "stalkers", etc., or whatever.
If I made a mistake here, and you really did intend to allow the whole world to see your e-mail address, then I apologize for being so presumptive, and I will be happy to restore your post to the way you originally wrote it, if you tell me to do so. I just didn't want it to fall into the wrong hands.
I sent you KourtneysMOM's e-mail address in a PM. I would hope that she's been able to bring her daughter to remission long before now, but if she still hasn't been able to accomplish that, maybe you can help her out by telling her your story, as an example of how it's done.
