Angy,
Sorry to hear that you've been having a rough time of it. I wondered where you were, but I was hoping that you were just busy.
How long have you been gluten free, now? I was thinking that it might be long enough that you should be seeing better results by now. I'm beginning to wonder if something else might be going on. I would suspect H. pylori, (since your stomach seems to be the center of the pain), except that most people with H. pylori don't have any symptoms, let alone symptoms as bad as you're describing.
Considering your symptoms, and the fact that you are taking Asacol, I suspect that you may have pancreatitis. Asacol has been documented to cause chronic pancreatitis in some patients. I don't have any way of knowing if your doctor might be up to speed on this issue or not, because this problem has only recently been showing up in the literature. If this is the problem, however, it needs to be addressed, because if allowed to continue long enough, it can damage the ability of the pancreas to produce insulin, and it can eventually lead to diabetes. For most patients, when their pancreatitis is caused by Asacol, (or one of the other 5-ASA meds), just discontinuing the use of the drug usually brings relief. If it doesn't, you surely should bring this to your doctor's attention.
The fact that you keep having these episodes, makes me very suspicious that this could be the problem. If the symptoms are worse after you eat foods that contain fat, that can be an indication that your pancreas is inflamed. Sometimes this condition causes nausea and/or vomiting, and even fever.
Anyway, I'm beginning to be concerned that this might possibly be the problem.

So sorry to hear this Angy..
How long have you been on the Asacol??
Something definitely is not right for you to be experiencing these symtoms.
I'm thinking if it is gluten the Asacol would help in keeping the symptoms at bay and ou wouldn't be bloated, gassy and having pain.

I don't know about you, Angy, but I can't handle much fiber at all. I made acorn squash and it was a problem. Hopefully, I'll be able to handle fiber some day.
I am really not getting the fruits and veggies I should have. I am almost ready to try some jars of baby food fruits and veggies to see if I can have them w/o a problem.

However recently my gi doc (asswipe) said to eat some gluten in the next 6 months cos he wants to re-do my antibodies testing..I said there is no way im eating gluten and feeling ill up until this time...
I cant eat fruit and veggies either...used to eat tons of them...I have been drinking v8 which is a juice with 8 veggies in it...that works ok...im thinking thats a good idea to try baby foods..bet they taste bland...lol!!

Angy,
Thanks for posting what you're eating. From your list, these are the foods that I couldn't eat while I was recovering:
corn
cheese of any kind
yogurt
chocolate
raisins
beans
bananas
all nuts - the nuts didn't really make me sick, they just gave me a belly ache.
I'm not sure what baked pot is, (or bked pot). ???
Of course, just because I couldn't eat these foods, doesn't mean that you can't, but many of them do cause problems for quite a few of us. Based on our experiences as a group, I believe that almost all of us who are gluten intolerant, are also casein intolerant. The problem with the bananas, is that they are loaded with fiber, and they're around 85% undigestible, so they tend to ferment, (rot), in the colon, when our digestive system is already upset. Of course, if you have D all day long, that may not have much time to rot.
Gf jelly babies and wine gums? It's pretty risky to be eating all sorts of things like that when you're trying to recover. When you eat so many different "risky" items, and you get sick, it's almost impossible to pinpoint what made you sick. I suspect that many of the things in your list above, "might" be making you sick. You may be able to eat many of those things after you're in remission for a year or two, but while you're still reacting, they can keep you from achieving remission.
MC is not like celiac disease, where you can cut out gluten, and in a few weeks or so, you are back to normal. With MC, it takes a while to heal, and you usually have to cut out a lot of other foods also, even though you may not be intolerant of them, because they irritate your gut while it is so sensitive.
I agree with you - I think that you will do a lot better, it you're more careful about what you eat, especially now, while your gut needs to heal.
If Asacol were making you sick, then it should make you sick as long as you are taking it. If you're feeling better sometimes, then it probably isn't the Asacol that's making you sick. Asacol is a pretty flexible medication, as far as dosage is concerned. You can take anywhere from about 800 mg, up to about 4.8 g, I believe. If you think that you would do better with a higher dose, you should call your doctor, to see if it's OK for you to increase the dose.
I'm glad that you're feeling better today. We want to see you healthy and happy, Angy. It makes us feel bad too, when you're sick in bed. Please try to eat a "safer" diet. OK?

Thanks for putting me straight on that tex!! you know i dont know what to eat anymore i dont seem to know all the mc food triggers. apart from what ive experienced with aching guts...guess im going to have to see a dietician or someone to put me on a good diet... i ate gf chocolate too.. baked potato is cooked in the oven or microwave..
I dont know if im lactose intolerant or casein intolerant... never been tested for them..sigh
