From Roxanne
hi everyone,
tracy is recovering from her surgery. she just has soreness where the did the sentinal lymph node biopsy. the hardest part is waiting to see if the lymph nodes are clear or more have to be removed.
once she knows, she says, she is ready to handle treatment, the hair loss, being sick etc. it is the not knowing what next that is hard.
the day after surgery, we went to a store called a special place that is all breast cancer survivor products. she actually tried on wigs for a couple of hours and they are going to take care of her needs.
today, we had moments. i cut off at least 6 inches of her curly locks and it was very hard. jill her sister was crying, lakin was crying and tracy was crying. however, the nurses told us that it is easier when it starts to fall out in clumps for it to be 6 inches long and not 12-14 inches long. well now the locks look like shirley temple cause it is layers.
she doesnt mean to be vain but then again, i would be. We have a lot to get through yet, but we will make it. brad, her husband is outnumbered this weekend with women.
well, i will be headed for home until she needs me to be here again. thanks for the prayers and candles that you have lit for her.
keep those candles going, please. love to all, Tracy, Rox and Dave (dad) but david thanks you too, i'm sure.

www.breastcancer.org is a site that I found very helpful through my journey with bc ten years ago. I had sentinel node biopsy before it was mainstream.......
