Hi Polly,

I was wondering if you saw my post a week or so ago about the latest reason I've got D? I was diagnosed with staph. The lab report completely confused the nurse practictioner I see, but when she talked to the pathologist he said they now break the C-Diff test into two components...the short spectrum that includes the C-Diff bug, and a broader spectrum that includes a basic staph bug. I'm doing 10 days of vancomycin now. Seems to be improving slightly, but I'm only on day 4 or 5 of 10.

Have you run across this before in your readings? training? I just wonder how long I might have been harboring this bug. And if there is anything else I should be on the look out for.

Hope you are well,
Katy

Hiya Katy,

I didn't see the post but this is very interesting. No, I have not heard about this. Was your staph a MRSA staph? Did the D follow a course of antibiotics?

I'll try to see if I can find out more.....

Good to hear from you,

Polly

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
