Clinical course of CC/10 year study

Post by harvest_table »

CONCLUSION: The long-term outcome of CC is benign with a resolution of diarrhea in up to 50 % of patients receiving anti-inflammatory treatment. About 30 % of patients may experience persistent diarrhea even 10 years after diagnosis. Our data confirm that CC is a chronic disorder with a variable course of symptoms during a long-term follow-up.

Joanna,

Great article. I hadn't seen that one before, and it's especially valuable, since it confirms the theory that we've always believed, namely that when MC is treated, it does not result in an increased risk of cancer. It's a shame that the 30 % if patients in the study who were still symptomatic after 10 years, weren't introduced to a corrective diet, but apparently they were all unaware of that option.

Thanks,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
