Well a BIG CONGRATULATIONS is in order for you!! :cheerleader: :cheerleader:
WOW!!! 87 pounds!! That is GREAT.
You keep it up and your gonna be one of the little peoples, like me!!!!
I dug up my geraniums and have them hanging in the basement.
Yep, another one of my experiments.
Hang them, and of course, they will lose their leaves, but I left a little dirt on the roots and I will water them once a month until next season.
Happy to here of the reward you received for your hard work on the weight loss!!

Wow! That's half a pound a day, about 1800 calories a day below maintenance level. You couldn't have eaten much each day, at that rate. Congratulations! You definitely showed 'em how it's done.

As expert as you are at dieting, the GF diet should be as easy as falling off a log. It does take a while to work, but if you will faithfully follow it, and also cut out any other intolerances that you might have, (such as dairy and maybe soy), you will eventually get there, (to remission, that is).

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Wayne!

WOW, the incredible shrinking man. You look GREAT! How much do you weigh? I ask because my hubby is also tall and skinny - he's 6'6" and about 210 lbs. Happy to hear that you did so well with the surgery.

Now, you just need to get the MC under control. You know, you CAN do this (I can hear how discouraged you are). We have all been in your shoes and know exactly how you are feeling. I'd like to echo what Wayne said about diet.
I saw where you have been trying to go GF without much luck. It is so hard to avoid gluten - do you have some good references that list how gluten can be disguised in foods? You might want to try a trial off of all dairy for a few weeks, since that seems to be the second most common intolerance after gluten.

Good luck,

Polly

Whoa! You lost 87 lbs. in 6 months? Congratulations! I'm glad the surgery went well - hope you're free of all pain soon.

Gee, with all this talk about dahlias, I think I need to plant some next year. I've been gathering seeds in preparation for next year's planting.

As far as the MC goes - I don't remember what strategies you've used so far. Maybe you could refresh us and we could offer some suggestions. Hop on the board when you get discouraged - there's almost always someone here who can relate.

Congratulations Wayne! 87 pounds is a lot in 6 months. When I joined Weight Watchers 17 years ago I lost 89 pounds but it a a bit over a year to do it. Still have maintained my goal weight so it can be done.

You look great!

Love, Maggie

Wayne;

I'm jealous - I need to lose weight so badly, but denying myself for my GF diet does not seem to lend itself to my wanting to deny myself anything else - especially sweets! However, I know I need to begin doing just that, and also start exercising more. I do get a good amount of daily exercise with day-to-day activities, but dedicated exercise hasn't been happening and needs to happen!

As far as plants all of you are wintering over - I never did have dahlias, but I used to pull up my geraniums when I lived in Iowa and just hang them upside down in the basement. I never watered, sprinkled or did anything to them all winter. About 90% of them would be fine when I put them back out in the spring. I also used to put 2 or 3 in pots in the house and sometimes could get them to bloom in the winter when those blooms really pick up the winter spirits!

Now that I'm in south TX - VERY south, we have better growing weather now than in the hot dry summer. I have just put out tomatoes - last week. I have spinach, sweet basil and carrots in and all are coming up and not looking too bad. I haven't grown carrots here in TX at all, and am excited to see how they do. Tomatoes and spinach I've had here in the past and they seem to grow well for me. The basil I grew once and made 2 or 3 batches of pesto that I froze, then I stopped taking care of the basil and it all died out. Hope I can do that much or better this year. My grandsons are helping me with it this year and are really excited. Today when we were pulling weeds together, the youngest one (5 years old) asked me if we could plant broccoli, also. So, guess it's time to go buy a few more plants. I know I need more tomato plants, and I want some green peppers, so now broccoli is also on the list. When kids are excited about growing and eating veggies, how can I possibly say no? They are both the reason for trying carrots this year.

This is all getting longer than I'd planned. I have work to do, so need to log off.

Again, Wayne, CONGRATS on your loss (and winning!)
