Babsey - How Are You Feeling?
Hi Babsey,
You haven't done much posting lately, so I can't help but wonder how your treatment program is coming along.
Are you making any progress? I certainly hope so.

Hey Tex.
Thanks for checkin in on me
I havent had alot of time at work lately to post. Can you believe they actually want me to work there? lol
My evenings are spent running kids and packing and organizing. We probably won't move into the house until after X-mas. The weather has slowed down some things on the house and there is some more work to do inside, but at least it's on the basement now. (see pic)
My stomach has been absolutely terrible. I've been up since 6 a.m. this morning and been to the bathroom so many times that I've lost count! But, at least I have had time to catch up on the board until the Thanksgiving Parade starts!!!
I'm going to hubby's family today for dinner. At least I'm confortable there since I've been with them since I was a teenager and they are all aware of my D problem! It's going to be difficult not the have any of his grandmother's gravy though!!!
I'm thinking that I don't have the patience right now for trial and erroring different food. Maybe I'm not being as careful as I thought I was. I'm resorting to eating dry Rice Chex. Im working at 6 a.m. tomorrow at my part-time job and I'm worried because mornings are really rough. I guess I'll get up at 4 to start my bathroom process! UGH!
I thought I was getting better. I had a few weeks that it was almost formed and I could hold it longer. the past couple weeks I'm right back to uncontrollable D and painful cramps that come on in a matter of seconds. This whole thing is exhausting me physically and emotionally. Thank goodness for the Lexapro because i'm sure i would be even worse if I wasn't taking that.
I'm sorry I don't have any positive news to share about my stomach issues. I guess this most recent flare-up is getting the best of me. I have cheated and had a few cigarettes. I'll try again Jan 1st when things settle down some and we get moved. I'm sure nerves aren't helping at this point!
Do you think Dee would let me move in for a month or so, she can cook and feed me and I can be sure i won't be slipping up on NON-GF food!!! lol
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone and I love you all!!! Thanks for allowing me to vent and as always, I appreciate this site and all of the support.

Aw, Babsey,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having to deal with such a persistent flare, when you have so much work to do, especially during the holidays. Have you tried hemp milk, to go with the Rice Chex? They make a pretty good combination.
I hate to bring this up, but are you aware that stopping smoking can cause MC? It's one of the known, common triggers for MC. Believe it or not, nicotine seems to be protective against MC. I don't believe that anyone has ever done any research on this particular situation, but it may be extremely difficult to put MC into remission, and stop smoking, at the same time.
Please don't feel that you need to apologize for not having any positive news - we're used to bad news around here. You're right, of course, all the pressure on your nerves is bound to contribute to the problem, and that, on top of nicotine withdrawal, may be the reason why the diet isn't working for you. And, once a serious flare gets going, sometimes it's difficult to rein it in, and turn it around.
Thanks for posting a picture of the new home - I see it comes complete with a fresh snowfall. I like the setting too, with all the trees. I live sort of "out in the wilderness", myself, with lotsa trees, and thickets of brush nearby, that's home to a lot of wildlife.
I hope you have a truly enjoyable Thanksgiving, too, and I surely hope that your GI issues won't be a major problem today, and that they will settle down completely, in the near future.
Love,
Tex
P S I betcha Dee wouldn't say no, if you showed up at her door.

Dear Babsey,
It sure sounded like you were down and feeling unsuccessful at everything. I know how hard it is to function with the severe D and adding quitting smoking on top of that is quite a chore.
I quit smoking last year (it's been almost 18 months) but I have to admit I had to use the Chantix to help. There are still days that I would mug someone for a cigarettes.
Get your D under control by whatever means and then worry about stopping smoking. This time of the year is rough enough will all the expectations of the holidays. I know when I add stress to myself nothing seems to go right.
I truly hope you get to feeling more like yourself.
