I'm BAAAAAAAAD today!

Post by Polly »

Yup, that's me. Maybe I should go to the Confessions Room, but guess what I did today? I ate some cheese for dinner. When I was in Whole Foods I saw this aged goat cheese from Spain. Didn't Christine or someone say that goat cheese might be less likely to cause a reaction because it was a smaller animal than a cow or sheep? Of course, I have tried sheep and goat cheese in recent years and always get sick. But maybe this one time????? I just couldn't resist.

So far (2 hours later) I have not had D but I am majorly BLOATED. :bloated: And gurgly. My tummy is so tight it feels like it could burst. I will probably spend the night like this - :toilet: Oh well, it WAS delicious! And I only ate a few thin slivers. Wish me luck.

Love,

Polly

Polly,
I hope you get away without the D!! I wish you could have been OK with just that small amount. for you.

Your always so GOOD, you deserve to be a little :devilangel: once in awhile.

I hope you don't spend all night on the :toilet:

We brought home 25 lbs of the most delicious Washington cherries, Bing, Ranier & Laupin. They give me big time D even with Entocort. I still shove one after another in my mouth and savor every minute of it!

Hugs!

Do report your findings to this E-lustrious group soon, ok.

By the way, we missed you while you were at the MIL'S -- did THAT drive you to cheese, Polly? Haha!

Hi Polly,

Well we were both bad yesterday and I hope you are doing OK after indulging. I just could not resist 1/2 of a farm fresh tomato. I squeezed all the seeds out but when I cut it for Frank, I just had to have some. Paid for it this a.m. but it was worth it.

Hope you are doing better than I.

Morning, Friends!

I am happy to report that it wasn't too bad! Had light-colored bullets this morning with extra gas and am hoping that was it. Bloating has gone down by about 1/2. No aches or pains. So maybe this means I can have some cheese occasionally. Oh JOY! It is obvious that I still react, but it seems that I have fewer antibodies now. This is the first time I didn't get battery acid D within 2 hours of eating dairy.

Maggie, next time maybe I'll try a tomato and cheese sandwich. That should really do me in. LOL! I know how you feel - I am drooling just looking at these fat summer tomatoes.

Thanks for your good wishes. HAH, Luce! You are funny! It probably was the MIL visit that pushed me to the cheese. Never got to the beach this last time either. WORK, WORK, WORK!

Love,

Polly

Hi Polly,

I'm Glad to see that the reaction was somewhat subdued. You know, my reactions these days seem to be marked mostly by bloating, with minimal D, also. Still, I find the bloating, (and the resulting pain), to be sufficient to keep me from trying the same test again, anytime soon.

I always seem to have the same result that you did, no matter what I try. Everytime I dream up a brilliant plan to "fool Mother Nature", she isn't fooled, and I wonder why I was foolish enough to think that it would work. LOL.

Polly how much cheese do you eat before it gives you a reaction? I ate 1 ounce of cheese this morning as part of my elimination diet, but now I wonder if it was enough.

Mike,

An oz. of cheese should be plenty to get a reaction.

Polly,

I'm so jealous, and not as brave as you!

Thought you tested negative for casein??? Is it just the lactose part that you think is a problem?

Musta missed something somewhere.

Luce,

I never had the casein test. I figured it out by trial and error.

Polly
