FDA Says Everyone Should Eat Fish - EPA Says No

Post by tex »

There's an interesting difference of opinion on whether or not fish is a safe food for pregnant women and children:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Tex,

I remember hearing about this issue for years - about how much fish pregnant women and children should have. Also, there have been concerns raised about the benefit of "farm raised" cold water fish such as salmon. I don't have a link to post on it but what I had read was there isn't enough or the right kind of fish oil (omega 3) in farm raised salmon to provide for any heart benefit.

If we could just figure out how to reverse all the damage we have done to our environment for the last 100 years maybe we would all be healthier.

That's for sure, and now that we're aware of all the earlier mistakes, we're trying to undo that damage, while creating new "high-tech" ways to do even more damage, (such as genetic engineering, etc.).
