Has anyone ever been tested for heavy metal toxicity?

Post by Carrie »

Hi everyone. When you were going through your diagnostic tests were you ever tested for heavy metal toxicity? I don't mean just mercery but the others - cadmium, lead, arsenic etc. I was not but am thinking about asking my PCP about it the next time I see him.

Love,

I got my blood levels of lead checked after 1 year of renovating a very old house. They were 1 on a scale of 1-9.

Other than that, its been years. The company I used to work at did medical monitoring because of our envolvment on environmentally contaminated sites, so I have baseline numbers somewhere, but because i worked mostly on clean sites and hate doctors I wasn't good about going to my follow up exams.

I have often wondered about toxicity from all the fillings in my teeth, but haven't been tested. I would be afraid to find out I needed to have all my fillings removed. :yikes: HATE THE DENTIST!

I was tested for mercury poisoning only, because I'd been exposed to it. It was negative.

I was tested while my sister was very sick before she died in 1988 and continued testing until 1995. My levels were fine but hers were off the chart for heavy metals, elements and gases. They never did find the cause but said she tested like someone from another planet. She had helium, mercury, etc. and was just one of numerous severe problems that plagued her until the end. I always tested just fine and so did my brother.

Since then I have discontinued testing - got tired of all the poking.

fillings removed

Post by Alice »

Hi all,

I had all my fillings removed a couple years ago - didn't have many so it wasn't bad at all. Bruce also had all his removed. They were starting to get old anyway, and I didn't want the mercury. Now I have white ones that you can't even see.

Love,
Alice
