Hello everyone, seems like I have been gone forever, an no internet, it was horrible. No, not really, I enjoyed spending time with my mom and dad, and my little brother. Basically that's all we did, spend time together. My parents are really not doing so well, dad is worse once again. He can't walk very far without being out of breath. There is not anything they can really do for him. His heart, his diabitis, and all the problems that go along with that, are taking there tole. They have him on such strong diuretics but they can only do so much. If he forgets one he is in major trouble by evening, his legs are so swollen that they look like they are going to burst. On the other hand, his blood sugar is doing pretty good. My baby brother helped get their washer and dryer hooked up in the front room of their house, so that dad didn't have to go down the stairs anymore, and now mom can put in a load when ever she needs to. She couldn't go up and down the stairs either because of her osteoporosis, her spine having fractured in several places, and having fibro too. My older brothers are going up in a couple of weeks to put in a floating floor and taking out the rugs to make it easier for them to keep clean too. It really is something to watch the two of them together. They have been together almost 50 years, what mom can't do, dad does, what dad can't do, mom does. When mom cooks, dad has a stool and he cleans the pots. He cuts up all the vegetables because mom can't with her arthritis. They sure don't make them like they use to. They are buddies. Mom helps dad put his C-Pap machine on to sleep at night. They have two TV's, and dad likes his news, mom likes to watch shows that don't interest him, but there is never any problems, they know when the others shows are on, and they just work it out, one in the livingroom and one goes in the bedroom. They finally have a DVD player, so Bruce and I set them up with some DVD's, we got some that Mom would like and some that Dad would like. Does anyone here remember "The Red Skeleton Show?" Well we picked up a DVD with some of his best skits on it. As kids we all sat around the livingroom TV (black and white) and watched it every Tuesday evening at 8pm. It was great to see dad laugh and watch it. So we basically just did some things with them, and everyday had dinner together.
Since dad's older brother died last month, Dad has been talking about not making it much longer too. And you never know, he and my mom have so much wrong everytime we leave them, we wonder if we will see them again. So everytime we have to spend with them, we do. Its good to make some more memories with them.
And since I just got home, I have not been able to talk to the girls yet to see how they are both doing. Of course I talked to them both while I was up north, but mostly worried about Amanda since losing the baby. Right now, we are just waiting for her to see the specialist. A person she knows with the same disease, PCOD, says that she might need to have help with the hormones for the first part of her pregnancy, since it is the ovaries that sustain the pregnancy for the first three months. That sounds right, as I was told that is why I lost babies too, the babies were fine, but since I only had one ovary, and it didn't function fully, or whatever, that is why I would miscarry. Anyway, we will just have to wait to see what the specialist says.
To go up north I had to cancel my edidural spinal needle thingy for my back that was scheduled for last Monday, but the doctor called me up north and we have it rearanged for the the 18th of this month. I do hope we have some luck with that.
Pebbles is glad to be home, and do you know that she wasn't scratching as much while we were up north??? We have been back for about 2 hours now, and he is scratching once again. Hmmmm, makes you wonder about this Toronto area doesn't it?
Well speaking of my little one, time to take her outside.
Luv you all, glad to be back. Hopefully I will get caught up with all the reading. It is so great to be able to take this laptop to bed and just read there. It is so great to have the wireless internet now. Thanks to my brother.
Hugs
Wendy

Sorry
Hi Wendy:
Sorry to hear your parents are having a hard time, but life is like that. It's nice that they have each other to support one another. Also nice that you and your brothers are there for them to help.
That's interesting about Pepples itches. Maybe it's something in the atmoshpere where you live. Poor little thing.
Well, have a nice weekend
Love - Momster
