Speaking of MSG

Post by tex »

Hi All,

A few days ago, someone, (I believe it was Courtney), asked a question about MSG, as a possible problem. Prior to the onset of my symptoms, I used to love Frito-Lay's Salsa Verde Doritos. I stopped eating them, of course, while I was recovering. Though they are one of those products that we all know we should avoid, due to an ingredient list almost as long as your arm, I scanned the list, and didn't notice anything that caught my eye as being forbidden, so I've tried them once in a while, lately, with mixed results. Sometimes, if I didn't eat to many of them, they seemed to be OK, and at other times they caused D.

I ate a bunch of them last night, and this morning they completely cleaned me out. Hmmmmmm. Upon closer examination of the label, I notice that Monosodium Glutamate is listed, pretty high up on the list, so they must contain a lot of it. Well Duh! I guess that settles that.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
