     I like it. TEX and the Potty People. Our first hit single will be "Polly an MD with MC". Dee would need to be mentioned 'cause she rhymes. I guess it'll be a country song.

I have TMJ. I thought it was caused by stress and malocclusion. :???:

Tamara,

Good grief! You're obviously having a full-throttle, no-holds-barred, flare. I never could figure out how to best deal with the TMJ, but, I will say that the last time it gave me any trouble was about 5 years ago, when I had my last major flare, just before I cut out every food that was even the least bit suspicious. (I've been able to add most of them back into my diet, though, during the last couple of years).

I could be wrong, but I suspect that the only reason why MC is not widely considered to be an autoimmune disease, is simply because blood tests do not consistently show significant levels of anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies, (just as blood tests are not accurate enough to detect anti-gliadin antibodies, until the gluten-sensitive enteropathy present with MC fully develops into celiac disease). All of those antibodies are present in stool tests, however, so the issue is apparently a matter of the sensitivity of the testing methods used, rather than a question of whether MC actually exhibits the characteristics of an autoimmune disease. IOW, the doctors are simply not using the best test for the job, so they get confounding, (invalid), results. Just one more in a long list of reasons, why GI docs as a group, don't understand MC.

Joan,

IMO, the TMJ is a side effect of MC, and the malocclusion is due to the TMJ, rather than the other way around. I never had a malocclusion problem before my symptoms began, but it became a major problem, somewhere along the way.

Tex

P S Maybe Polly and Dee would be willing to do that little ditty as a duet.

I have come to that conclusion as well Tex. And to think my hubby said it was all in my head (all other symptoms) except the D. Here is one more thing to add....have any of you ladies out there been fighting chronic vaginal yeast or bacterial infections? I've been for the last 2 years which is what finally got me to my pcp for a complete work up as i thought something HAS to be wrong with me!!! So glad I did since i'm finally getting some answers.

I've had Thrush off and on for a long time......but not lately. I always wondered if it was caused by chemo.

BYOPP  Tex.

Tamara,
It occurred to me that I haven't experienced any asthma problems this year, presumably because I'm eating fewer (hopefully none) of my problem foods. In addition, the pain in the joints of my hands has largely disappeared. I agree that getting your MC under control will also take care of any other autoimmune problems you have.

Hey, Tex and The Potty People just might make it on to Ellen......LOL Just yesterday she had tow youngs girls who recorded themselves in the potty singing a duet and it was posted on U-Tube, Ellen saw it and invited them onto her show and even paid their way. Now if we could only come up with a way to harmonize together and start a group who knows we just might all become famous. I'm sure Ellen would LOVE to wear a Potty People T-Shirt! LOL

Tamara.......................Welcome to Our Family. Everything you've been told so far is "right on track" so I have nothing further I can add except that even though I have CC I also have SLE (Lupus) so once your lab work comes back you may find that you do have another or combination of autoimmune deseases as well as the MC.
May God and All His Angels, watchover, protect and guide you "One Day At A Time".

Tamara,

I have had quite a few yeast infections in the past year and I never had them before. I wonder if you are on to something here. I also have elevated ANA, but like everyone else I have a lot of autoimmune problems beside the cc.

Hi Tamara,

Alot would depend on the rest of your workup. What are the tests that you've had so far with through your physician during this process? I'm sorry if I'm asking something you've already written.

Yours, Luce
