Boswellia Trial for MC

Post by RUBYREDDOG »

Hi all,

I started my Boswellia trial yesterday. I started with half of the recommended dosage to guage any negative effect it may have on my body. Everything was normal this morning so I am on the full recommendated dosage now. The following gives a little more of the details of this trial:

I am also keeping a food and poop diary to further evaluate my progress. Hopefully I'll have some positive results to report in a few days.

I also have a swollen and sore ankle. I will be interested to see if Boswellia will help as an anti inflammatory, with that.

Hi All,

I have not been posting any results of my Boswellia trial because there is nothing to report. Either good or bad. I am in the third week of the six week trial and I feel the same as before I started. No improvement in my symptoms. So, I still plan on completing the full six weeks. Very disappointing. Although, I suppose I should be thankful that I have not had any "flair-ups" during that time.

Hmmmmmmm. Interesting, though, as you say, kind of disappointing.

Thanks for the update. Maybe something will still happen, before the end of the trial.

My 6 week trial of Boswellia has ended, but I have decided to extend the trial for another week, or two, due to some improvement in my MC symptions. Maybe it takes longer for me to respond to the treatment. (that's my optimistic side talking here) Anyway, I want to see if it continues, or not.

I have noticed that during this 6 week trial that I have not had a headache (I usually have 1 or two a week) and my joints have been free of arthritis pain. But I would gladly take those pains back if I could achieve remission from MC.

Hopefully I will have something positive to report next week.

It's nice to read that you've had some improvement as a result. Hopefully, another week will give you more information.

Thankyou all for your words of encouragement. I don't post often but I read most all of your's. They have been very helpful to me. Tex, you are amazing. You are the glue that holds this family together.

Hi all, I have ended my 7 week Boswellia trial and I am sorry to report that I had limited success with it. I feel better overall, due to a reduction in joint pain, but my LC symptoms have remained the same for the last 5 months.

I have some formed and some mushy bm's and a few watery ones now and again. Fortunately, I only go twice a day, usually in the AM. I have been GF,DG,EF,SF since June, 2008.

Maybe I have missed something in my diet. I'm going to do a complete review (again) and push forward. Entocort may be the next step for me.

If anyone is inspired to try a Boswellia trial, the cost is about $70 a month. I had no negative side effects. YMMV

Hotrod,

If you don't mind going to the trouble of posting everything that you are eating/ingesting, sometimes someone else can spot something that you/we have been overlooking. That tactic has worked many times in the past. It's sort of a shade tree version of having 20 or 30 doctors reviewing your medical records and putting their heads together to come up with recommendations.

Thanks for giving Boswellia a good try, and reporting the results here.

Don't forget to include the items that you "know" are safe, and use every day, because often, that's where the problem lies - i.e., daily vitamin supplements, etc.
