I am having trouble uploading a picture to my blog.
It says it is succesfully loaded, gives me the BBC code below, but clicking on this produces a 404 error.
I tried uploading a second copy with the same error.

Hmmmmmmm. To be honest, I've never tried that feature. I'll check it out, to see if I can discover anything.
OK, I made some changes. Try it and see if it works now. If it doesn't, I'll have to investigate further.
Thanks for pointing that out, and please let me know, if it still doesn't work for you.
EDIT: It's not uploading the images to the"Upload Folder". Evidently, there's an error in the code. I'll have to see if I can find it, and figure out how to correct it.

I've looked high and low, and I can't find the code that is supposed to do the actual image file uploading. There was a BB code issue a couple of versions back, when the phpBB2 code was upgraded because of security issues. Certain BB code functions became corrupted, when the upgrade was made, and as far as I know, this was never completely resolved in later upgrades. Since the only decent Blog MOD available, (the one I used), was written for an earlier version, It's possible that the image upload feature was "broken" by one of the later version upgrades, and it may not be "fixable", in the current code version.
I'll keep looking around for a fix, but in the meantime, you can add images to blogs the same way that they can be added to posts, by hosting them on an offsite server, and pasting the direct URL link into your blog, highlighting it, and clicking on the "Img" button, to add the "img" tags to the URL. Or, you can manually add [img]at%20the%20front%20of%20the%20URL,%20and[/img], at the end, so that browsers will properly interpret it as an image.
Sorry for the problem. Very, very few php boards used this MOD, so support for it was dropped several years ago. IOW, help from the author is no longer available. As I said, though, I'll keep looking for a solution.

You can host the images on ImageShack, by starting out as though you were going to write a regular post, and instead of copying the URL you get from their site into a post, just copy it to a wordpad document, (or something similar), to save it, and then put it in your blog, when you're ready for it.
Or, you can use the other image hosting service on the board, (PostImage), by pretending to be writing a post, and then edit your post, and copy the image address. You can even copy the image address from any image, simply by right-clicking on the image, and selecting "Copy Image Location", from the drop-down menu. Of course, there are a lot of other image hosting services out there. Some members use PhotoBucket, for example.

OK, disregard everything I said above about hosting images offsite. You can still do that, of course, and it will work properly, but it's not necessary. I believe I've located the problem and corrected it - at least it seems to work correctly for me, now.
See if you can upload images now. If you have any problems, please let me know.
