KD,

Sorry you feel that way, but since you seem to be a bit tense at the moment, here's another nice, relaxing, non-medical article for you to read, that should demonstrate how well qualified you are as a judge of suitable medical treatments. Enjoy:

You know Tex I have not even been on this web site since my post until I just got a response from Joan and noted your response to my post. You can diss Jordan Rubin all you want, the article you posted doesn't mean anything to me. 90% of vitamin companies I am aware of have been charged with making false claims for their products in the past. It is a standard that the Medical community made many years ago to discredit the use of natural substances since they are not standardized. I knew about this article before I even tried any of his products or his diet. You see, I research all sides of an issue before I get into it. Your article doesn't shock me at all, as a matter of fact it was much less shocking than the introduction I had to MC from YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to get off of your soap box and quit believing that you know all there is to know about MC, because you have proven you obviously don't!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have now been DIARRHEA free (OMG what to think I actually said the word diarrhea instead of D, have I committed a crime on this forum) Anyway diarrhea free for over 3 weeks, have had no continued symptoms of MC, am back on a HIGH FIBER DIET, eating nuts daily, all vegetables and fruits, even blackberries and strawberries. Back on dairy from cows. I continue with my multiple doses of PROBIOTICS daily and lots of yogurt and kiefer, the only elimination I have continued with is gluten. I am waiting for the blood test results for CD, I should have those tomorrow. I am having 2-3 well formed stools every day with no more gass or pain!!!!!

Jordan Rubin's program actually worked!!!!!!!!!!!! and I found backing from more than one source that his program( or others like it) are the ticket to resolution of IBD!!!! The difference I have had with my resolution of symptoms is that I used common sense and decreased the inflamation in my colon then repopulated it with the appropriate probiotics. If you got you head out of your a-- and read Jordan's book you would learn about the role of the gut in your immune function, and if you allow the appropriate probiotics to work MC does not have to be a life long prospect. I have noticed that all of you on this site enjoy "being sick" I have met other patients in my life that have been that way too. I refuse to be sick, and mental attitude has a lot to do with getting well. Too bad that another day on this forum lingering about your illness is all you have to look forward to.

I have no reason to linger on this forum, I am in remission, and quite rapidly if I may say so. I rode 87 miles on my bike last week and plan to increase to over 100 this week and have moved on to bigger and better things. I will ride 100 miles on may 2 even with the diagnosis of MC!!! MC does not have the best of me, I have gotte the best of it.
Good Luck

Hi Kathryn,

How are things back at Lakeside? Going smoothly, I hope.

Thank you for another adolescent tirade. Please don't continue to try to put words in my mouth, though. For example, I didn't diss Jordan Rubin. In fact, I didn't say a word about him. You're the only one talking about him here.

Incidentally, you are lying about not being back until today. I noticed you were logged on about five days ago. I suppose you wanted to see if anyone agreed with you. You forgot that logging in leaves a record. Why would you lie about being here? How pathetic.

Do you always make a habit of lying, or are we just lucky to see your dark side?

You say you "have moved on to bigger and better things". I hope that means that you are giving some serious thought to someday growing up, and behaving like a responsible adult, instead of a spoiled brat.

Good for you,

Tex

Excuse me KD!!
But you can count me out if you are implying that I enjoy being sick!
I have never felt sorry for myself or asked why when I was diagnosed with collagenous colitis!!
My attitude was and always has been that it was never going to take over my life!!!!
Actually, I am one that can find humor in most things in life, and know how to count my blessings!!
If you have found the magic bullet to find remission, then I am happy for you!
And if I seem to linger on this forum it's because there are lots of people that I am proud to call my special friends and I have taken it upon myself to pay it forward and support, console, lend a shoulder, to whoever may need it at any given time.

Dee
PS. And I bet I know of one person that is really getting off on what has taken place since yesterday.
It's like, you have 3 choices & the first 2 don't count!!!!

Hi KD,

I see you are online right now. I am so sorry that you feel the way you do. You possibly have a lot to offer to people who might be helped the same way you have been helped. You are very lucky that what you tried so soon worked for you. We are all different. What helps is different for each person. Just because this diet worked for you doesn't mean it will work for everyone. I read Rubins book and was very inspired. I made his soup which made me have terrific gas and leaky diarrhea. I even went by the place he recommends for goats milk yogurt and organic meats ( I live near Austin) and it doesn't exist any more. The phones are disconnected. I have tried his Primal Defense probiotic and it just gives me green diarrhea. I can spell diarrhea, its just easier to type D. Rethink what you are saying here. Tex has helped an enormous amount of people. I have been on this board for over 2 years and have seen people come and go after they do what he recommends and then they are well or at least much better. Some of us struggle for a much longer period of time because nothing works. Some keep coming back to the board even after remission just to try to support and help others (Polly, Gloria, Matthew, and many more)

KD, Congratulations on achieving remission. That's the ultimate destination of all of us here who suffer from this terrible disease. Hope its a permanent condition (not temporary) for you.

As for Tex and the other people on this board, I don't agree with your assessment of the impact that they have had on our battle against MC. Through their tireless efforts, I feel that I am getting closer and closer to remission.

Many, many others have expressed the same gratitude for the hours and hours of work that Tex has devoted to us on this board. He is as rare as a hens tooth. LOL. That's only my opinion though, you are certainly entitled to your own.

So for you, It's time to move on and enjoy the rest of your life.......Good luck.

KD,

It seems to me that when you first came on this forum you were the one with the "how could this happen to me attitude." As a matter of fact, when I first read your initial post, I told my dh that you need to grow up and deal with it. You whined about how you can't do this or that or ride your bike, etc. I'm glad that you are in remission and are moving on. But for you to come on here and condemn people who are only here to help and support (which is why you came here in the first place) is just asinine. Tex and the PP only have everyone's best interest in mind and go above and beyond what the GI's are doing to help. I personally have learned so much from this wonderful people.

And if you think that I enjoy going to the bathroom 28 times a day, not being able to do things with my children and wake up a night covered in crap, then you are the only one who needs to get their head out of their ass.

Have a nice life.

KD,

I really don't understand why you are so angry at everyone on this forum. Or why you have a problem with typing "D" instead of "diarrhea." "D" is shorter and faster to type, but I have seen people type the whole word. In any case, the fact that you even made that statement is an unfortunate comment on your maturity level.

I am very glad that this diet worked for you. I don't think that there is anyone on this forum who isn't glad that you're in remission. I hope that you are one of the rare people who is able to maintain remission without diet or meds. Please remember, though, that what works for one person may not work for another. As Pat pointed out, Rubin's diet did not work--which doesn't mean it won't work for another person. Our MC has been triggered by different things, at different times, and we all have different genes. I am glad that you obtained remission so quickly. Please remember, too, that the amount of time it takes to achieve remission often correlates to the amount of time we were sick before obtaining treatment.

I'm sorry if you felt overwhelmed when you joined the board. MC is an overwhelming illness, and we try to help each other through it the best we can. (Screaming is not typically helpful.)

Your accusations of Tex are uncalled for, too. To my knowledge, Tex has never claimed to be a doctor; in fact, he frequently reminds us that he is not one. However, his hours of research and work on this board have often helped lead people in the right direction to achieve remission. He has helped many of us learn how to help ourselves and how to talk to our doctors about treatment options.

Now there is something I absolutely have to get off my chest. How dare you suggest that we like being sick?! That takes some serious nerve, and I am beyond furious at you for that statement. Rose has already pointed out how awful some of the consequences of MC can be. I have had this since I was 21 years old, during what should have been some of the healthiest, most active years of my life. I wasn't diagnosed until last summer. I have developed low bone density and arthritis, and I have no idea what the longterm health and lifestyle consequences of this will be. I have missed out on quite a bit because of this illness. I have tried to ignore your previous rude posts, but this is really infuriating.

Seriously, why are you so angry at everyone? What did we do to you? I'm sorry if you didn't get what you wanted here, but surely that does not merit your immature, personal attacks. Does it upset you that much that people might have to find another route to remission than you did? One of the underlying ideas of this board is that members are supported in whatever route or treatment they choose.

No one needs your attacks in addition to what we already have to deal with.

Look Out!!
I've Been Thinking!!!!! :bandevil:
Anyway, guys & gals, due to the posts that have seemed to come to a "head" yesterday, IMO, why should we even lower ourselves to that level???????? Not worth the time & energy or for the festering on the subject to continue....
Some people get off on others reactions and I think we have seen here first hand, an example of that!
So, it's anyones choice if they feel like they need to reply and comment. I know that I chose to this morning, but now, I have washed my hands of it...
We all know that Wayne :yourock: and don't feel bad because I've been called worse, and have had untrue things or accusations thrown at me in my life, BUT I always considered the source!!!! :whatever: Actually, with Easter approaching, I hope the Easter Bunny leaves nothing but rabbit turds in their baskets!!!  Sorry!!! But not intended to offend any of "MY" special friends here!
Gosh!! I can't beleive I made it thru this post without using a bad word..

Love

How unfortunate that someone has chosen to be so divisive. Since I've been a member, everyone has been extremely helpful and supportive.

I'm so grateful for the time and effort Tex has put forth on our behalf. He's a very busy person, but never lets us down when we're looking for his opinion, regardless of the time of day or the commitments he has.

It may be a good time to remember the rules of the board:

If someone feels that they are unable to follow these rules, it would be best for them to disassociate themselves from our group.

Thank you Dee, Pat, Hotrod, Rose, Courtney, and Gloria! I, too, have been trying to take the high road, but enough is enough. I add a big AMEN to all you have said. Tex, you are a godsend and have helped so many lives. You veterans on this board are an inspiration and give so many of us the hope we need to get through this. Please don't let some selfish, self-centered, ungrateful, immature,
(I could go on) individual ruin the great work and support that goes on here. JoAnn

Hmmmmmmm, guess I missed something. Went to Atlanta for a few days with my Daughter. Also my DIL & Granddaughter met us there and my Sister lives there so we all had a "girls weekend". It was great.

Had I read the string earlier, I'd have posted in support of Tex, of course. However, you have all said it very well and I won't try to add anything new now.
