A quick check in!

Post by jillian357 »

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I have checked in. I wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate each and every one of you, and this board as well. What a lifesaver it has been to me this past year since my diagnosis!
Even though I don't post as often as I would like, I do lurk several times a week to see how everyone is doing. Welcome to all the new members!

Just to bring you up to date-- I am doing pretty well, still on 9mg of Entocort a day; can't seem to reduce much below that without a flare. I've eliminated all the hidden soy from my diet (including vitamin supplements....lots there, who would have thought it??!) and am doing pretty good overall. A few episodes here and there, but mostly under control.

I'm excited to report that I am "officially in training" for my first full marathon! It's the Air Force marathon in Dayton, OH on 9/19/09. I can't believe that I am able to tackle this!
I ran another half marathon on 4/5/09 and shaved a full 12 minutes off my previous time, so I am feeling pretty optimistic about my running future.
Last year at this time I NEVER would have thought a race of this magnitude would be in my future, but lo and behold, here I am.

I owe a MILLION thanks to Tex, Karen, Polly and EVERYONE else in our "family" here for supporting me, educating me, and giving me hope. I honestly don't think I would be where I am at now without all the help you have given me.

For that I owe a HUGE thanks to all of you!

I just really felt the need to express this to you, my extended family.
I'm so grateful that I was able to find you all.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there tomorrow!

Take care everyone!

Much love,
Jill

What great news! I can't believe you trimmed 12 minutes off your run time. That's quite an accomplishment. Keep us posted with your progress.

Jill,

That's great news that you're doing so much better. You certainly deserve to be in remission, as hard as you've worked for it.

Wow! That's really impressive about deciding to tackle a full marathon. I wish I had half your perseverance. I wish you the best of luck in your training, and in the race.

It's exciting to have someone in the family, so dedicated to excellence. As Gloria said, please keep us posted.

Love,
Tex

Thanks EVERYONE, you are making me blush!

If I hadn't found this board I know for certain the only running I would be doing would be to the BATHROOM!

You've helped me more than words could ever express!

I'll keep you all posted, especially after I start getting some looooong runs under my belt. Should be interesting to say the least!!!

Thanks again!
Love,
Jill
