Are IgG food sensitivitie for life?

I've been doing some reading about the different antibodies and am I understanding it right that IgG rxns are permanent? I've heard that delayed food sensitivities are usually transient and will disappear if you avoid a food for a length of time. Is it that if you fix the leaky gut, then the proteins that caused the reaction in the first place never make contact with the part of the immune system that triggers the IgG reactions, so even though you do have IgG Abs to a food, the food won't trigger a reaction because the protein is broken down before it reaches the immune system (IgA excluded, of course)? I'm trying to figure this out.
