HRT and flares
Some of you may recall I had a flare a while ago that I ended up tracking down to my oral HRT. So the Doc switched me to patches. It magically resolved and stayed that way for weeks.
Well wouldn't you know it, but two weeks ago I started another flare. This time after one week, I took off the *bleep* HRT patch and didn't reapply it.
Surprise, surprise, 24 hours later I was producing a perfect norman!!
I have stayed good for over a week now, and I can eat anything (haven't tried gluten or dairy of course).
The doc told me when I started the patches that there was a lower dose one available, but seriously I don't think that would cut it. I think I just don't do well on HRT.
I see the GI in a fortnight, so it will be interesting to see what his take on it is. Want to bet they say HRT can't cause colitis?
Naturally, I now find I have been waking up in a sweat the last few nights.
So this means I have go back to the search for some way of controlling the sweats. I am trying flax at the moment - if it doesn't help that problem at least it will keep me regular.

Well that's most interesting, isn't it. You're getting quite good at tracking this sort of thing down, though.
That sure wouldn't surprise me.
You know, as complicated as all this body chemistry is, it's probably a miracle that any of us ever achieve remission.
Good work. Now, if you can just find a way to work around the problem.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
