but not much poorer either. It was lots of fun just being in Atlantic City for a day! Thanks for your good wishes - it would have been fun to win. Sigh. Carrie, we did go to the casino at the Tropicana, among others. Beautiful!

One of the bonuses of living in the east coast corridor is the ready availability of day trips - to N.Y., Philly, Atlantic City, etc. There are a lot of bus companies that run daily buses, and it's so reasonable. We can go to N.Y. for the day (3 hours away) for $45, which includes snacks, drinks (sometimes) and a movie on the way home. The buses are large, roomy, and have bathrooms (a necessity for us, right?). You can take beer/wine if you wish.

Atlantic City is essentially FREE. It's a 2 and 1/2 hour trip, and costs $20. But when you arrive there, you are given anywhere from $16-$20 credit in a casino, along with coupons for money off for food.

Next time we're going to arrange to meet Barb and Lou there.

Glad you had a great time and win or lose, you had fun.

Would love to be able to expand that to a group of 6 and self-invite Frank & I. However, we both work so that just won't happen for a couple of years. Cannot wait for retirement.
